After Ben cleaned up the DB for search I'm getting an Authentication Check error.
I've changed the API to a known match (multiple times) and publisher still will not authenticate.
I closed and restarted LR and the system, but no change in results. I've glanced at the host logs and didn't see anything, but could have missed it.
Not sure where to go next. Also not sure what has change other than the search cleanup in BL3.
Thoughts?

That would be because the API key is now coming from the Backlight Admin settings, as it is meant to. Can you set it again in the Backlight admin settings and if needed update the same value in LR Publisher.

Ben,
I've set both the BL api key and the publisher key to very simple keys (e.g. Test) and it fails to authenticate.
I had not changed the api key at all and it started failing, at which point I put new api key in both locations and it fails (after reboots and multiple tries)

are both api urls exactly the same?
if the site url in Backlight settings begins with https, does the api url in Lightroom also begin with https?

Apparently, LR got confused as it was doing background tasks, and once those ended LR was able to authenticate.
