I recently replaced my PC and just attempted to install TTG Publisher. On the old PC, I had 3 instances of Publisher, each with a number of albums associated with them.
Somehow, my main instance lost all of its albums. The only one there is the Default Album. Is there any way to recover them? I still have the files from the old PC. The photos and the templates are still there.
Thanks

Are you working with the same catalog? I though that Publisher albums and album sets were catalog specific.

Yes. Same catalog. My other instances have all of their albums

Sounds like something for Ben to look at. Try emailing him. He'll likely need ttg-be admin access and perhaps ftp access

I'm sorry but if the instance is missing albums in LR then that would be a LR or catalogue issue, and there's not much I can suggest.

How are albums in Publisher related to the LR catalog? Would restoring a previous catalog possibly bring them back?
I also have my laptop that I believe has these albums in Publisher. Is there any way to get them from the laptop and copy them to the desktop in LR?
Again, the photos are all still on the PC with their edits. They are just no longer listed in the Publisher list. So basically I have lost all of my copy and other details.

The albums in Publisher are stored as part of the catalogue. That's just the way the Lightroom Publisher services work, and not something that we've coded. We don't know how they are stored and AFAIK there is no way to retrieve them or copy them other than via the Publisher services function.
It would definitely be worth opening up old backups of your catalogue to see whether the albums show up, and how recently they did. I can't think of how you'd copy them to a newer version of the catalogue though.

if you can find them in a backup, you might be able to use Lightroom Voyager to move them to the current version of your catalog

I installed Publisher on the new PC today, so I will try to go to yesterday's catalog backup and see what is there. I think that the only thing that I have done to the photos is re-order them and possibly remove a couple from the catalog, so I should be able to recover if they are still there!
If this fails, I'll try Voyager

Also, for simplicity, I reinstalled the older versions of the TTG plugins that I was using before the PC died. Are there any gotcha's that I should be aware of before installing the current versions (which are in my download directory waiting for me to have time to upgrade).

I restored the catalog from yesterday's backup. I set up the other instance of Publisher, and all of my albums (except the one I created today, of course) were there. I rearranged my new album and created an album in the Publisher instance, and I am now uploading the album.
Must have been some strange glitch. But all seems fine now.
I couldn't figure out why two of my Publisher instances were fine and the third was empty. I guess I'll never know !!!!
