In my galleries, when I click on an image in the index page and view I can return to the index page by hitting escape or the "x" at the upper left hand of the image page. Except for my "places" gallery, http://www.kencarney.com/galleries/places/. I deleted the album in LR, made another one and re-published, same result. Thx for any help.

could be your file names. Many of them have commas in them. Take those commas out. Use only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores in folder and file names.
