Matt,
That's a wonderful thing! Just what I am looking for ![]()
All Sorted Now!
No Explanation from either party, so could have been a real problem which AddThis cleared up, or a False-Positive from Sophos Antivirus.
I don't mind whichever, I'm back in business ![]()
Hi Guys,
I have just had a Sophos AntiVirus warning this morning that there is a Trojan Virus on the AddThis Web site. Listed as Mal/Badsrc-C at location ct1.addthis.com/satic/r07/core124.js
This will affect everyone who has the Addthis share buttons on their Website and will distribute to windows users accessing your site..
I have disabled my Addthis content until they sort it out. Incidentally you get the same warning when visiting their home page too! ![]()
Bummer, I'd just sorted the formatting out last night too....
Hi Matt,
The Wordpress Codex Link worked a treat and I used the Velvet plugin which quickly and efficiently changed all the database url links to my new domain.
I did have a couple of cock-ups before I read the Codex properly which resulted in me losing my most recent 3 posts. But no worries as I had a back up and just re-published them again.
So I now have a test site up and running at http://jonevans.photography for me to play with ![]()
I think so Matt!
Thanks Matt,
Appreciate the pointer. My intention was to un-publish the galleries that I didn't want to leave on the family site and then re-publish them in the new location.
Presumably the downside of leaving the blog where it is would be that it would keep it's formatting from the existing site.
Could I just point the blog to the new pages location and point pages at the blog location. Then I would not have to worry about re-locating it?
Would I need to purchase the plugins again for this sub-domain Matt?
Hi Guys,
Just looking for a few pointers really.
Having moved my photography stuff along a bit I now want to split my family site from my main photography site. I have snagged one of the new TLD's (jonevans.photography) and thought I would point it to a sub-domain folder on my existing kopstone.co.uk site on Bluehost. Then I can buy more excellent TTG products like Cart and Client Response Gallery to sell my work. ![]()
So, is it a relatively easy process to move my blog to the new subdomain structure and would anyone have a link to some resource on the process. Or should I not bother and just start a new blog? Then again I could just keep the blog and point to it from the menu. Any views, help, advice would be much appreciated.
Jon
Well.. you know, us crazy brits ![]()
That's the kidney, thanks Rod!
Hi Matt,
And a Happy New Year as well, may all your bugs be small ones ![]()
Yeah, unfortunately there are a couple of Jon Evans Photography pages out there. But It's my name what's a boy to do?
I'll certainly have a look at the plugin, it's an avenue that I hadn't considered - thank you.
In the end I took the cowards way out and changed my logo to a square, just put some white space around the signature for the time being. This wasn't such a pain to do, just updated Pages and uploaded. In the past this would have been a mare, but with using shared resources it was so easy - again thanks Matt.
The Square logo should make things easier for display on mobile anyway, so I might have a crack at a multi layered logo (if I can find the tut).
Anyway the square logo seems to do the job, a test post seems to have worked using RSS Graffiti. Happy Days!
Hi Guys,
So I finally dragged myself kicking and screaming in to the 21st Century (or whatever century it is, possibly the cenury of the fruitbat!) and created a Facebook account and a Photo Page. (@Jon Evans and @ Jon Evans Photography).
I followed Matt's tutorial so I that I can push my website blog to my Facebook Pages (woohoo...).
The issues that I have found are:-
1. Facebook seems to publish all Images from by Blog as Square format.
2. If I have no Image in a Blog, then Facebook takes my Website Logo from the page header.
3. Facebook ignores the featured Image for this as well.
So, my Question is this:-
As my Website Logo is 2x1 format and looks rubbish when presented square, do I now have to create a new Square Logo for all my stuff or put at least 1 Square format Image in every post?
Or have I missed something .... again?
All help much appreciated or Answers on a postcard ![]()
Thanks for the reply Phoentje.
1 week seems a bit quick on turn around to me, but is that delivered?
I can get the Image printed by White Wall and back to me in 4-5 days, but the professional framer I use normally takes 7-10 days. That means I have to allow 2 weeks for delivery. I'm aiming at a quality product so I don't want to frame them myself.
What do you think?
Hi Guys,
Just looking to open up a bit of discussion really.
I would like to sell some of my Images and try to generate a bit of income for my work. However, I have no idea what to charge and how to package the images. I have looked at some local photographers who sell and the prices vary considerably.
So I need some advice and who better than you lot?
My questions are:
1. Do I sell a Digital Download or a Framed product so that I can control the way the Image looks?
2. What is an acceptable turn-round time for a framed product?
3. The most difficult question is; I know how much it will cost to produce a framed product, but what is an acceptable profit margin?
4. What is an acceptable price for a Digital Download?
Please chip in guys I'm not fishing for critique, I just have no idea how to start!

Hi Matt,
I wasn't sure about having them below the navigation, so I shifted them above the navigation at the right. Imho it gives a balance to my logo and softens the impact of having them in the content area.
Me Either!
Our cousin Trevor, who lives in Lusaka, now has a menagerie of Guinea Fowl, Mucovy Ducks, Turkeys and Peacocks! Very surreal hearing a Peacock call in Zambia....
Hi Guys,
Did you miss me?
So... just got back from 2 amazing weeks walking Safari in Zambia, living in a Bush Camp 300 Miles from anywhere with our good friends and Lion experts Chris and Charlotte Mcbride.
Not boasting, just sharing http://tinyurl.com/obdgmld I took enough pictures for 5 sets and I'll probably have to a whole section on Zambian tree root systems......
Zambia is a brilliant place to go, but not for the faint hearted.

Hi Doug,
I use Bluehost and also use the Uptime Robot and I have had 100% uptime on my site over the last Month. I have also had no issues with email disruption. So I agree with the earlier suggestion that you have a localized server issue. Compared to my last ISP, Bluehost are excellent. Maybe they could move you to an alternate server if you are experiencing these outages?

Upgraded to Lightroom 5 Today ![]()
Found No issues todate with any plugins at all: CE3 Pages, AutoIndex, Stage, Publisher, Gallery all worked as normal.
Well, normal for me that is!

OK Thanks Guys, asked and answered..
OK Kris,
What are the consequences of stopping the crawlers, presumably no one would know about your site unless you told them?
--Lofty
Could I ask a real dumb newbie question?
Why would I want to block crawlers from Indexing my site?
--Lofty
Thanks Rod,
I'll give it a go later on.....
OK! I think I have established what is going on! I now have my site partially upgraded to CE3 and maybe you guys can shed some light as the issue seems to be browser specific.
I have two domain names pointing at the same site;
http://www.kopstone.co.uk and http://www.gypsypics.co.uk
When I designed the CE3 Pages and CE3 Gallery I used www.kopstone.co.uk as the site root.
Visiting my site using Chrome/IE9 or Safari makes no difference which address I use.
However when I use Firefox (versions 16.2 on my Mac/17.0 on my PC) and go to www.kopstone.co.uk all the font awesome elements show fine, when I use www.gypsypics.co.uk none of the font awesome elements are displayed correctly.
Spooky!
Ah! OK, Matt.
I'll stop messing about in that case!
Hey, wine worked! I now have Icons working inline, really not sure why they didn't work.
Next challenge is Icons on the Menu items....
And it's true CE3 is more fun with wine!
