#51 Re: CE4 Publisher » Changing the number of columns in the Album folder » 2016-02-11 00:00:26

Of course!!

Would I need to export and upload the edited version of Pages, or is it something I can do via Publisher

I edited my Album Set folders with a new template from three columns across to two.

http://davidbuddphotography.com/galleries/01travel/

Is there a way to achieve the same with the top level gallery folders via Publisher.

http://davidbuddphotography.com/galleries.php

If not, do I to have upload new Auto Index folders and republish all the galleries.

Thanks

As a complete novice to website creation the last few months have not been without it's frustration, The cat has been kicked a few times, the empty bottles of red wine are piling up and the coffee machine is kaput due to a meltdown.

However, perseverance eventually paid off, after what was originally a rather large learning curve of trying to understand the in and outs of html, php, etc, etc.

The community forum has been source of great help and in particular the responses that I had from Rod Barbee, (who must work a 24/7 shift).

The integration of the plug-ins with Lightroom is excellent and in particular Publisher, which is sheer brilliance!

Thanks to Matt and Ben for a great concept and to Rod for his unending knowledge.

"Tabula rasa!
This sidebar is empty, or you've tried to assign a sidebar that doesn't exist. Nurture this space via your admin."

Any suggestion as to what this may mean, other than the obvious.

I've looked at the Wordpress dashboard and really can't find a way to "nuture" it via my admin.

Thanks

Thanks Rod, your last suggestion, as I am using Publisher worked just fine.

As person, who until starting this project knew absolutely zilch, nothing, about building a website, the amount information available on this forum and TTG Tips & Tricks, and the way people like yourself freely give answers and solutions to questions has been immensely helpful.

Thanks

When inserting an image in the sidebar the same image appears also in the gallery (v 6.1.5).

Is it possible to isolate the image so it doesn't appear in the gallery, similar to what happen's CE Pages.

Thanks

#59 Re: CE4 Cart » Adding a CE4 Cart gallery to the Services page » 2015-08-09 00:43:38

It all makes sense now.

Thanks Rod for your help...much appreciated

Yep that sounds right and just about got my head around it...just a bit confused about this part.

"Then just add this gallery to your navigation menu for all pages"

#61 Re: CE4 Cart » Adding a CE4 Cart gallery to the Services page » 2015-08-08 22:32:17

"You may be better off creating a regular gallery and substituting the Services page with that"

I may of  confused the issue here. Is what you suggest above similar to what I saw in the User Showcase example at this site http://bradgoddard.com where there is one gallery for prints and another for stock...that's what I am trying to achieve.

#62 Re: CE4 Cart » Adding a CE4 Cart gallery to the Services page » 2015-08-08 22:12:45

Hi Rod

Thanks for your reply

Does that mean I would be able incorporate images on the services page similar to having a gallery. What I am looking at doing is only selecting a few images that I would wish to sell as prints.

Would it be better to perhaps put the cart gallery in with the main gallery

Thanks

I wish to add a cart enabled gallery to the "Services" page, separate to my existing gallery.

Is there a way I can link that using Publisher.

Thanks

#64 Re: CE4 Pages » Gallery not showing » 2015-07-02 22:48:05

Hi Rod

Problem solved...you were correct I hadn't assigned the Galleries page. I also did the update to Pages as well.

So it's upwards and onwards to Publisher...maybe knocking on your door if the coffee runs out!

Thanks for your help, and your kind comment.

I uploaded a test gallery (africa) to my "galleries folder" so as to make sure I was on the right track before using Auto Index and Publisher... which obviously I wasn't, as the  galleries page remains blank.

I re-read the Wiki docs and Rod's TTG Tricks & Tips but the black coffee has run out and I've hit a brick wall.

If someone could point me in the right direction it would appreciated.

#66 Re: CE4 Auto Index » Creating a Auto Index template » 2015-06-23 22:11:45

Thanks Rod for your reply

I didn't explain myself very well. What I meant to say was that all the other templates that I have shared to
have had no data saved in them, such as "Gallery" .

When I opened the Auto Index template (without changes ) there was already data between the two points ie;

},
        styleData = {  and version 0

That's what was confusing me.

This is all very new territory to me but I am progressing slowly with all the valuable info that's available in the forum, docs and videos.

Thanks again for your help

#67 CE4 Auto Index » Creating a Auto Index template » 2015-06-23 13:43:58

When I create a Auto Index for a multi-tier gallery using " Pages " can I copy the styling across to the Auto- Index. The reason I ask is that when I have shared template data between Pages and a new template Gallery there is no data beneath;

styleData = {
        },
    },
    version = 0,

However when I try this with CE4 Auto-Index  I get this;

        },
        styleData = {
            ["html.background_color.lrcolor"] = AgColor( 1, 1, 1, 1 ),
            ["masthead.h1.font_family"] = "'Gill Sans', 'Trebuchet MS', Calibri, sans-serif",
            ["masthead.h1.lrcolor"] = AgColor( 0.65, 0.65, 0.65, 1 ),
            ["masthead.h2.font_family"] = "'Gill Sans', 'Trebuchet MS', Calibri, sans-serif",
            ["masthead.h2.lrcolor"] = AgColor( 0.65, 0.65, 0.65, 1 ),
            ["masthead.mt"] = 8,
            ["navigation.background_color.lrcolor"] = AgColor( 1, 1, 1, 1 ),
            ["navigation.bb"] = 1, etc etc....

So, my question is, do I need to carry the styling across to the Auto Index, or am  I just confused.

Thanks

David
