ok, thanks Rod. Is the file to protect images from unathorised downloads in the cart folder? (htaccess) ?
/public_html/backlight/modules/module-cart/application/skeleton
Also, if I wanted to watermark my images (not the thumbnails though) I would need to do that as a seperate process and ftp up?
Cheers,
Chumby
OK, cheers Rod. Thanks for that.
So nothing else is needed ito be ftp'd into each album folder to keep the images safe, etc?
Cheers,
Chumby
Hi all,
Just wondering if there are some up-to-date docs or posts somewhere which explain what is needed to use Backlight2 without lightroom as th publisher. I couldn't find a definative set of steps.
Cheers,
Chumby.
Thank you , NIco.
Yes that does make sense. Good work!
So to get the search working effectively, do you have the categories listed as part of the image file names or in the metadata somewhere and the search picks it up from there?
Just reading your post below to get an album listed as part of your home page. Does that .htaccess hack still work fine?
http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=9903
So your structure is just one gallery and then one album set and one album? Is that right?
Cheers,
Chumby
That is really well done, Nico.
I am getting started now on creating a stock image site. looks like I have a lot of learning ahead of me!
Why did you go for a single album? Was that to get all your photos listed on your homepage?
Cheers,
Chumby
Thanks Matthew and Ben.
Ben have ust sent you an email...
Cheers
Chumby
Thanks Rod,
Didn't work at 1.5meg, but did for a 500k image...
Cheers,
Chumby
No, just a jpeg Rod.
Am just startng out with a random picture for a test. The uploader said 8Meg limit so I presumed this file was ok.
Will try something smaller see how I go.

Chumby
Hi there,
Have installed Backlight 2 with no dramas. Have created some alblum sets, albums and now trying to upload photos via the backlight/web interface.
The scroller gets to 100% but then turns red and says "Upload Error" - no other information. The image size is 6.1meg.
Any ideas what I am doing wroing?
Cheers,
Chumby.
Great ... thanks, working now!
Hi,
Have a test site I am trying out at www.wildlifephoto.com.au
The menu bar is showing fine, but on my moto g phone I cant see a menu anywhere. Using chrome.
Is there a setting to enable this?

Hi all,
What is the process for resizing thumbnails in a gallery. Is it a matter of just creating a different size in lightroom and then republishing - or do you need to change the thumbnail settings in backlight?
Cheers
Chumby
All working for me... thanks for the help, there!
Cheers
Chumby
Is this somewhere is pages ==> design as well?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Chumby
All working fine now, Ben.
Thanks,
Chumby
Thanks for the update, Ben.

Hi all,
Trying to get a masnry style gallery displaying on my home page (www.wildlifephoto.com.au) but am getting the error below when I turn "Insert Album" to on. Any ideas? Thanks
Something went wrong
realpath(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/wildlifephotocom:/usr/lib/php:/usr/php4/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php4/lib/php:/tmp) in PathBuilder.php on line 34'
Great, thanks Matt.
Had some issues with inserting an album onto the homepage - but Ben made a patch for this and now all working. www.wildlifephoto.com.au
How can I get this into a masonry gallery from here though? Just cant seem to find the right setting for that...
Cheers,
Chumby
That's good news....test site looks great...
To embed a masony galley on the home page - is that set up through lightroom/publisher options or in the web admin area of backlight?
Haven't tried it yet...but keen to
Cheers,
Chumby
Hi Matt - Sorry for the confusion...
I was referring to including keywords in the title tag. Not using the keywords meta-tag. So basically just the ability to customize the title best way possible. Something like:
<site name>+<keywords>+<page name>
eg.
MyPhotoSite: landscape, wildlife, australia: Contact Us.
MyPhotoSite: landscape, wildlife, author_name1, author_name2: About Us.
etc.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for developing Backlight - made the purchase today!
Yes this is crucial to me also. I will need to customize meta data including title - so that each page can have a different header, keywords included etc.
I look forward to seeing how all this develops!
Well done,
Cheers,
Chumby
Cheers Ben - that's good to know.
Is it possible then to have two levels of search - one search box say on a home page that searches everything, and then another search that just searches an album that you may be in?
How would this be implemented?
Appreciate the help.
Cheers
Chumby
Hi all,
Sorry to bring up an old thread... just getting back into this now...
It possible to search across multiple galleries? Say I had 5 galleries, each with a couple of pictures of say a church in them.
Can I do a "master search" and return all the church images across multiple galleries?
Apologies if I have missed something.
Cheers
Chumby
OK.. great makes sense, Ben
OK, thanks Ben.
So any advantage in using "keywords" in album titles and filenames to ensure better search results?
Cheers
Chumby
