#101 Re: Backlight Support » Pangolin Popup box styling » 2017-07-18 16:23:28

OK,
I had had a go and obviously I can style the content of the popup. Where I am struggling at for the moment is how do I replicate the feature we had here as in Matt's Magnific popup
<div id="the__popup" class="mfp-popup mfp-hide">
    <p class="page__ui mfp-title">Popup Title</p>
    <div class="content clearfix">

The page__ui mfp-title looks like it controlled the display of the popup and picked up the site site styling for the titlebar.
I suppose my real question is how do I make the popup look like what Magnific generated? Is this a phplugins thing and if it is how do I not screw up all the other Fancybox dependencies?
Thanks.

Hi Rod,
I used your tip for a Pangolin type popup box from the Tips area.
It works. However, when we had Magnifc the box would be styled with a header bar that fitted the look and feel of everything else.
I can see by the Localization page that the majority of styling and content is geared towards images being displayed and sold etc.
If you look at my Exhibitions page on the link under my signature you will see a button about Future Exhibitions that opens a new Pangolin type popup box.
How do I make that neater to follow the look and feel of other aspects of the site?
Do you know of any examples of code I can look at as I have not been able to fathom out the Fancybox stuff that comes up on the web as it all seems to be geared towards images.
Virtually everything I do is more or less straight out of the box. I take the view that Matt & Ben have done all the hard graft here to save me aggro.
I'm working on 1.2.2 Beta at present.
Thanks.

#104 Re: Backlight Support » Pangolin 121 menu weird behaviour » 2017-07-10 18:12:58

Hi Matthew & Ben,
The menu problem persists if clicking on the Galleries menu whilst playing my Theater album. This behaviour only in Firefox and is correcte3d on other pages.

Thought I had better mention it, sorry.

Thanks Matthew.
That reads like a shed load of work.
On the WP widgets front I did notice a slight formatting issue after the 1.2.1 fixes. I cannot say for certain that it was not like this before the upgrade though.
The standard archive widget is chopping off the bottom of the text slightly.
I hope I have not used dodgy widgets as they are default ones to pick from and my only addition is the Kodak text widget
I have to say that for me the whole upgrade has been the easiest by far which indicates how much effort went into the back end.

Thanks

Hi Rod,
Now in the dark side. MAC OS Firefox 54.0.1 64 bit - the Windows version is32 bit. Same result with Css and plugins back on. I turned both off and the same dodgy behaviour.
Menus work fine in Chrome and Safari
CSS and plugins tuned on and OK in Chrome and safari but broken in Firefox.
Regards,

Hi Rod,
Disabled both custom css and phplugins, refreshed cache and refreshed Firefox in new instance and still the same. Chrome OK. This is in Windows 10. I will switch over to MAC OS and see what happens.
Regards

We just posted simultaneously Rod! I had my lunch and thought about testing in another browser and edited my post. Obviously a Firefox irritation.

Afternoon Chaps,
I have noticed something odd going on with my flyout menus on desktop only as obviously they are flat on mobile
menuondesktop
If I try and slide down to the different galleries or indeed the sub-menu off About, the menu disappears. Also note the strange behaviour of it appearing behind content.
This has happened since I updated to 1.2.1. and misbehaves in Firefox 52.2.1 but seems to be OK in Chrome 59.0.3071.115
Any clues?
Thanks.

#114 Re: Backlight Support » Pangolin Search page customisation » 2017-07-08 05:04:11

Thanks for the new releases.
I have installed them but I don't know whether I have a problem with the search tool or not.
pangolin search
When I enter search criteria I get back what I thought I would have seen on the initial view with regard to instructions
pangolin search results
Should I be seeing the search page with my text inviting a user to search for something or the default first pane?
As always thanks in advance.

Many thanks to Matthew, Ben, Rod and others for making this upgrade so easy compared to the old CEn days.
I have a few things to iron out but in total I spent about 6 hours today tweaking stuff having messed about with a basic Pangolin page for a few hours before that and reading all the posts coming in.
I like to wait a few days before diving in so thanks for the early adopters.
I don't try loads of new stuff at first as I work on the basis of recreating the working version. Nothing fancy but it all works at 99.9%.
i dare say I'll have more questions as I test in other OSs and on other devices.
Thanks again.

Many thanks Rod,
I knew it was somewhere but had not looked here.
I like the bold d by the way. I ought to try that with the s on my surname...

#121 Re: Backlight Support » Pangolin Contact form response » 2017-07-06 22:01:15

Thanks Matthew,
I'll try Rod's fix in the meantime as it only has to be done once.

It is a while since I did my initial Backlight v1 conversion but I had a Search page that now is superceded by the new top pallet search in 1.2. Where can one add useful information for a user on a journey through the site about what they can search for?
I am struggling to find somewhere to edit.
Thanks

#124 Re: Backlight Support » Pangolin Required fields » 2017-07-06 21:39:45

Interesting responses thanks. I work with issues affecting sites - I am not a developer. I normally take the role of an Agile Business Analyst and accessibility audits are a frequent thorn especially with colour/contrast failures.
All I was asking about here was where if anywhere can I configure the required fields asterisk - not the field name or the content that people type in. I know from recent work I have done that certain reds on white pass accessibility tests. It is a tedious process going through all foreground and background combinations  to ensure that the colour palette for an organisation is used effectively on a site in a consistent manner.
I use a very dark grey text on white background as a norm. Now if I could configure the twinkle to be a bigger font size then that would work for me.
The whole area of accessibility is a minefield...

This may sound like a stupid question but where can I configure the size and colour of the twinkle (asterisk) for required fields in the contact form?
I am thinking that the use of a red twinkle makes it more obvious but even being able to resize it might help.
Thanks
