OK, so I managed to get a working wordpress install on a subdirectory with the video looking great, I then messed up my WP install by copying stuff around by FTP.
I'm going to start again, but I would like to set it up in a test environment and the move my pointers later which brings me back to this question...
One more question, in order to set it up correctly I need to define the root directory within the settings of the web module. So when beta testing in a sub directory, I set it for that and then would have to change it when I go live.
Ideally I would like to set up a test environment in a subdirectory, test it so it works, and then just change my domain settings so the domain points to that subdirectory.
Is there a way to do that?

seems that in the past, redirects caused problems, so I don't really know. Matt probably would though.
I have just had a thought, this could be dangerous...
The old site was made in pages using some phplugins and works really well www.villabegur.com and the only thing I want to change is the home page to be the wordpress one (http://www.villabegur.com/VBWP/). If I just copied the stuff from the wordpress directory, excluding the galleries directory, so I would overwrite the index.php but not the other .php files (info, galleries, services etc) would that not give me what I want?

I'm also considering changing the home page to one created in Wordpress (CE4 theme), will CE4 Pages allow me to do that?

Hey guys, I have finally got out there and shot some footage, put it on youtube and am thinking about changing the site to have a video splash screen. I have not got around to upgrading the page to backlight yet. Is using CE4 Stage still the best way of doing this or would I be better off upgrading the site to backlight first?

What are benefits of Backlight over CE4? It is hard to tell from the galleries and documentation. Maybe a video tutorial of it being used would help?

Hi guys,
I have just bought a DJI phantom 3 drone, which is a great fun piece of kit.
One of the things I would like to do is change the front page of www.villabegur.com to a video front page, and I understand that I can use CE4 Stage for that.
Another thing that I would love to be able to do is host a bunch of clips on Vimeo or youtube and create a gallery within my photography site with thumbnails for video clips.
Is there any way of doing this?

I may be able to get hold of a drone and take some gopro video of www.villabegur.com and if I do, I would like to add it to the website which I created using CE4 Pages and Gallery.
I may decide to make the home page a video rather than a slidehow or to have the video as a separate page. Any idea how I could go about doing this using CE4?

Hi all,
I have been on this forum a few times, usually with a problem. This time I thought I would pop by and thank you for a great product. I have an amateur photography site www.peterblandford.com which I recently upgraded to CE4 and am using publisher for the first time. Love it!
I have had a holiday villa rental site which I designed using CE3 a couple of years ago. I have recently bought the villa next door and have created a new website for that using CE4 pages and galleries, I have upgraded the old website and I have created a wordpress page for both villas using the CE4 wordpress theme.
It has been much easier that I imagined and I have phplugins on all of them.
If any is interested the three sites are

Hi guys, this problem seems to have fixed itself and everything is working as it should. I have had some problems with permissioning on my mac so maybe this caused it, but now all is working well. Thank you very much for your help.

OK, no idea what I did wrong but re creating the site and then copying all the galleries across by FTP fixed it!

I think I may have uploaded some files to the wrong directory by accident, I may have to start again and upload files from scratch, maybe keeping the galleries in a temporary location?

Not sure what has happened but I have just noticed none of my galleries are now working, if I select any of my galleries I get the spinning disk and nothing else. I have recently updated the pages by uploading the new files with FTP.

Thanks guys, I think I am getting there, I have made the width of the page container "auto" and set the aspect ratio of the galleria slideshow to 5 : 4. I want to have fiddle with how landscape and portrait photos are treated but I don't understand what the fullscreencrop and imagecrop settings above do. Is there a link to a description?

I have a slideshow on www.peterblandford.com home page. Since I updated to CE4 it is a bit small on my retina macbook, I am pretty sure the settings are here
But I can't work out what the settings are for what settings I need for what I would like. I'd like to have landscape photos fill up the width of the screen and portrait photos to have the same height but have tram lines either side.
Can you help?
