#76 Re: Backlight Support » Photo Information in an Album » 2016-08-22 09:53:07

I did that and added the # before it to make the text larger. I would like to make the text even larger and center it. I played with various controls but nothing seemed to work. Can you point me in the right direction?

The alb um show title, etc, on the Album Set Page.  When you select an album that information goes away.  How do you have the info on the album set page show on the album page?

On top level galleries I was able to change the album order as you indicated above but I can't find a basic tab.  So I went back to top level galleries and clicked on albums, which gave me a list of the gallery hierarchy and the various albums.  I clicked on the albums and it gave me a list of the properties, including the album order, but there is no edit button that would allow me to change it.  Can you point me in the right direction?

And if I recall correctly that was done in Lightroom.  Is there any way to set several images with the program randomly selecting images like I did in CE3?

I have created an album set titled Baseball with several albums underneath it.  No picture shows for the Album Set.

How do I make pictures show here like it does for the albums?  Is there a setting?  Do I have to add pictures in the Baseball folder?

Thanks.

That took care of the name in the Masthead but the word Galleries in the description "Galleries > Peachtree Corners 2016 Festival" is still blue for me.

It also does the same thing on the archives page.

My Home and other pages have a black header on the left and black text.

http://norcrosspics.com/

My individual Gallery Pages are the only exceptions.  They have a blue header with partial blue text.

http://norcrosspics.com/galleries/20160 … -festival/

I looked in the Galleries settings and it refers to the Standard Album Set Template.  I looked at the design of that template and could find nothing there to make the changes.  It referred to the Backlight Standard Page and I looked at that design and see where I have the Masthead set to left alignment and the Color to black.  Not sure why the individual Gallery pages are not picking this up.

Where would I go for these settings?

I was in touch last weekend.  It's Godaddy and they punted to the ISP, Comcast, after doing a TraceRT inquiry claiming that it was a latency issue.  After doing a bunch of research I'm going to call them back this weekend.  The claimed latency issue doesn't make any sense with in that I am able to load about 20 images each time before it times out.

I just logged in at work and voila, no set.  Thanks for your help and patience.  I was never able to use Publisher with CE3 due to a timeout issue (I still have it with Backlight) that I had when uploading images so this is a new experience for me.

Figured out the first thing I was doing wrong.  In Lightroom I was creating an album, not an album set, called Archives.  Let me see what I can do from here.

Do I now create another Album Set for each of the Archive folders I want.  For example, one for Baseball, another for Football, etc. and then add the individual Albums in those Album Sets?

I've hidden the Album Set in LR and published it but it still shows in the Gallery and Menu albeit with a new icon.  Can this be hidden completely?

I'm not getting this at all.  I went into Lightroom and published a new folder called Archives inside the Galleries folder.  This folder then showed up in the Galleries on the web page but not as a top level gallery folder.  I added a Menu Item called archives but there is no option other than the existing Galleries when I select Album Set.

I tried adding an Archives folder to Publisher using Lightroom's Publishing tool at the same level as the galleries folder and this then showed up as a top level gallery folder but had other problems.

Am I supposed to create this top level gallery within Lightroom or on the web using Publisher.  Should it be inside the galleries folder or at the same level as the galleries folder?

Trying to make it work like it did in CE3 with an archive page and photo albums under each archive subject.  Let me look at it tonight when I get home.

I've created a new item under my default menu set called Archives.  Under it I have established a dozen or so subjects that I plan on archiving.  I will have the top level Archive Folder and then these folders and in each of them I'll have some albums.  I established the top level Menu item as Archive with one level of descent.  I then established the various sub items with various names such as Baseball, Football, etc. and indicated that there are no descendants.

Two questions.  One is that whenever I click on one of the sub menu items it goes to the Gallery folder.

The second is how do I get images to show?  Do I just start publishing albums from Lightroom into the various folders?

Thanks for all your patience on this.  The process is a little slow for me but the light seems to be coming on.

Is there a setting that allows the text in in album name to wrap to two lines like it did in CE3? Backlight appears to have a limited number of spaces and then puts "..." at the end.

I'm fine with the way it works.  I just didn't expect it.

#97 Re: Backlight Support » Changing Image Order in an Album » 2016-08-14 06:49:17

I was able to reorder the images. I had tried to order the images by sorting them automatically by name in LR.  This put the out of order image into the proper place. I then republishing the one image, which did not change the order.

I then did a custom order off of the automatic order by moving one image. I republished that one image, which was then moved on the web site.  I then put the image back in the proper place in LR and republished it again with the the image moved to the proper place on the web site.

For some reason it wasn't recognizing automatic ordering but would if I created a custom order with the images ordered the same way. Go figure.

Thanks for the help.

I republished the entire 131 image album with no change.  I then cleared the cache and no change.  I also refreshed the browser by using the circular arrow.  Again no change.

I published an album and it turns out it wasn't in the right order.  I read I need to change the order in LR and republish making sure that the Push Metadata box is not checked.  I did so and the order stayed the same.  It didn't work.  How do I reorder the images?
