I have not tried publishing these 2 images separately. I am hosted with GoDaddy, and they have corrected the DoS issues for my IP address, since I can upload several hundred images with no issue.
My photos generally have fairly long names with date, time, original Nikon name, and sometimes a hyphen followed by "edit" (all "legal" characters), but this is an older set that have standard Nikon naming. The photos that will not upload are from my old CoolPix 8800 and are jpg. However many of the images in the collection are from that camera.
I also noticed that these 2 images could not be moved around the Publisher collection for some reason (set at "Custom Order"). I ended up removing them from the collection. After uploading the rest, as I mentioned, I exported them as dng and reimported them. They still would not upload. I get the error almost immediately upon attempting to publish.
This has never happened before. Very strange.
I have a collection in CE4 Publisher of about 275 images. Two of these images will not upload for some reason. I tried exporting them as dng and then reimporting them, but they still will not upload.
I get a "Can't update this collection" error.
Error uploading rendition.
Unable to complete this action.
Headers { [error] => { [errorCode] =>
"networkConnectionLost" [name] => "The connection with the server was reset"
[nativeCode] => 12031

All of the other images upload without issue. Any suggestions?
I am running CE4 on my website undet the "public_html" folder. I have installed backlight and galleries in this same folder. I will be creating a new folder for my backlight instance under public_html as well.
My question is, there is an .htaccess file in the public_html folder. If I copy the backlight .htaccess file, it will overwrite the existing one and may impact my CE4 website. I believe that I made some changes to the .htaccess file some time ago.
Please advise on how to proceed...
Thanks,
-Herschel
I am using the follow icons, including to Facebook. This is unrelated to TTG, but is there a way to have Facebook display anything but a login or sign up page for people that are not Facebook members? There were a couple of work-arounds regarding changing permissions in FB, but more recent posts indicate that FB "fixed" those.
Anyone have a working work-around to allow non FB users to see my postings on FB?
And there's this conversation going on over at Victoria's forum on the possibility of LR 6.2.1/cc2015.2.1 corrupting catalogs
http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthre … LR-catalog
Rod
Is it possible that this catalog corruption issue may have caused my loss of Publisher Albums the other day? If so, maybe I was lucky that the previous day's backup was OK...
I restored the catalog from yesterday's backup. I set up the other instance of Publisher, and all of my albums (except the one I created today, of course) were there. I rearranged my new album and created an album in the Publisher instance, and I am now uploading the album.
Must have been some strange glitch. But all seems fine now.
I couldn't figure out why two of my Publisher instances were fine and the third was empty. I guess I'll never know !!!!
Also, for simplicity, I reinstalled the older versions of the TTG plugins that I was using before the PC died. Are there any gotcha's that I should be aware of before installing the current versions (which are in my download directory waiting for me to have time to upgrade).
I installed Publisher on the new PC today, so I will try to go to yesterday's catalog backup and see what is there. I think that the only thing that I have done to the photos is re-order them and possibly remove a couple from the catalog, so I should be able to recover if they are still there!
If this fails, I'll try Voyager
How are albums in Publisher related to the LR catalog? Would restoring a previous catalog possibly bring them back?
I also have my laptop that I believe has these albums in Publisher. Is there any way to get them from the laptop and copy them to the desktop in LR?
Again, the photos are all still on the PC with their edits. They are just no longer listed in the Publisher list. So basically I have lost all of my copy and other details.
Yes. Same catalog. My other instances have all of their albums
I recently replaced my PC and just attempted to install TTG Publisher. On the old PC, I had 3 instances of Publisher, each with a number of albums associated with them.
Somehow, my main instance lost all of its albums. The only one there is the Default Album. Is there any way to recover them? I still have the files from the old PC. The photos and the templates are still there.
Thanks

Fantastic! Works great. Thanks for the quick fix.
I am trying to set up an Add-On Domain (or SubDomain) that will "point" to a particular gallery on my site. Since it takes several hours to propagate the DNS data across the web, I am unable to test it at this time. From earlier testing it appears that I am losing links and formatting on the album page that I am pointing to, while if I access this album via the menu system, all is well.
Is it possible to have a domain name point to a particular gallery a opposed to pointing to the main CE4 Pages Home?
The structure is
public_html/photo-now/galleries/003-route-66 (using cPanel)
My main domains point to public_html/photo-now
I would like to add a couple of domains to point to public_html/photo-now/galleries/003-route-66
Is it necessary to traverse the TTG heirarchy from the "top" in order to set up the environment and get to the particular gallery or can I simply point to the album directly?
Here is a link to what I get rt-66.com versus going to photographs-now.com and selecting "galleries" then "route 66"
Thanks! G_SLUG appears to be working. For those using StatCounter code, they seem to have changed the downloadable code eliminating the "\" escape code for embedded single quotes. This caused a fatal error according to the php code testers. Upon editing in Notepad++, I compared the earlier code downloads with the latest one and noted the missing "\" characters. I added them into the code and all is well. The counter is counting.
I am using StatCounter via php for several of my "PAGES." I have one counter for the HOME page, identified by
if (G_STYLE == 'CE4-PAGES-HOME') {
one for my GALLERIES page
elseif (G_STYLE == 'CE4-PAGES-GALLERIES') {
and one for my CLUBS page (a main navigation menu item)
elseif (G_PATH == 'CLUBS') {
My site is photographs-now.com.
What I would like to do is add another StatCounter instance to a particular Gallery (route-66). How do I identify that page so that I can add another elseif clause to the php code? The path to the gallery is /public_html/photo-now/galleries/003-route-66.
Thanks!
Hi Matthew
That was quick! No more Google Drive video! It is much easier with Vimeo... no conversion, just grab the video (in my case from the GoPro editor), upload to Vimeo, wait a bit, go to LR Publisher for Stage, enter the ID, my text for the page, and I was online!
Thanks!
Haven't looked into Vimeo. Right now, I seem to have it. At least on the PC it looks fine at 720p "normal" which is noted as HD. Since I fixed the naming issue it seems to work well. It looks fine on my smartphone (although it stops every few seconds, even on WiFi, but there are major issues with the Motorola Droid Turbo with WiFi).
Would I gain anything by serving from Vimeo? My cPanel account has a limit on the number of files (250k) but unlimited storage.
Google Safe Browsing is complaining about Miro Video Converter as unsafe...
I converted the video using EasyHTML5Video and uploaded all of the files, changed my Stage template to HTML5 Video, and edited the Publisher file. The page comes up as hoped. My original video (from a GoPro) was 1920x1080. My size on the webpage is a max of 800 wide. My mv4 file is about 265MB, the ogv is 127, and the webm is 22.
The same size files from Google Drive loaded in a couple of seconds. The file from my server has been spinning its wait wheel for over 5 minutes now. For some reason it appears to be downloading at about 30kbs.
Do I need to reduce the size of the file in the conversion program to correspond with my 800 width so that it will load, or is something amiss?
Update: I recreated the files as 720p rather than 1080p and they are actually larger! (m4v is 408MB, ogv is 222MB, webm is 591MB). I noted that the default was "high" quality. I am reconverting at "normal" quality to see if the files are smaller.
So at the moment, I am unable to use the HTML5 option, since the video will not load during my lifetime ;-)
No difference with 720p "normal." The video simply will not play. Here are two links
http://photographs-now.com/stage_panora … -prescott/ (Google Drive) < loads in seconds
http://photographs-now.com/stage_panora … rescott-2/ (HTML5) < will not play
Update 2: I looked at the source for the stage page. It was looking for a .mp4 file. EasyHTML5Video created a .m4v file. I hadn't noticed that. I changed the name of the file on the server to .mp4 and voila! It works like a charm.
Thanks for the pointers!
BTW, if you are looking to see the page, the
http://photographs-now.com/stage_panora … -prescott/ link is the HTML5, the
http://photographs-now.com/stage_panora … rescott-2/ link is gone, and a new link,
http://photographs-now.com/stage_panora … rescott-0/ is the original Google Drive version.
I don't see an option in my GoPro editing software to output in HTML5. Just H.264. If H.264 uses Flash, I'd rather avoid it, since Flash is constantly crashing in FireFox. Any thoughts on a conversion program?
If I moved the video files to my server, what would be the best format? I can create an H.264 (MP4) from my GoPro editing software and upload it. What option in Stage would I use to set it up?
When I posted my first stage video (Google Drive Video) I think Google provided an embed code with the iframe parameter... I am not sure... Matthew or Rod may have provided me with a framework. The one that I used was
<center><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9XvopVdGJHMVXdqczNkSnpFUXc/preview" width="800" height="480"></iframe></center>
I imagine that I modified the height and width parameters. Now there is no iframe provided, and the Google link to the same drive is at drive.google.com (drive.google.com rather than docs.google.com). I have been pasting in the sharing code that Google now provides...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Xvop … sp=sharing
up to the /view parameter (sorry I can't seem to make the comment include the entire link text), so that I end up with
<center><iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9XvopVdGJHMUDhhNnltQWpZNG8/preview" width="800" height="480"></iframe></center>
I then export the template and FTP all of its folders and files to the server. This works, but it seems that there must be an easier way. I keep all of the Stage folders in a separate folder on the server and link to them in the descriptive text of the calling page, and then provide a link back to the calling page in the text of the Stage page. This may be seen in
http://photographs-now.com/clubs/004-ar … -prescott/
Click the link a couple of lines above the gallery to go to the stage page.
Hope that helps with some additional info.
I set the Stage template to "Video: Google Drive Video." With the embed code dialog either empty or with an embed code entered, I exported the template and uploaded it to ttg_be/templates/gallery." When I go to Library and Publish, select either template in edit, the Video ID is grayed out. What other info do you need?
The Video ID field will not accept any text... that is my issue. It is grayed out. I removed the embed code from the template to no avail.
It was working a few days ago with 14 images. I have not made any changes to Pages... I've used Publisher to upload several albums but made no changes to Pages. That is what is confusing...
I just opened up Pages in LR with the 14 images, and exported and re-uploaded the files (replacing only those files that were newer than what was on the server). It now works properly again. The only thing that I have noticed is that the pause and slideshow icons were not there when I first uploaded the Pages files.
Again, I have no idea why the images were gone... the file dates were all from Feb on the server! But all is well now...
Thanks, Matthew
I have been creating Stage pages for both Panoramas and Videos. I have been able to simplify my work using Publisher for the panoramas, but have not been able to use Publisher for the videos.
I have created templates for the videos and uploaded them into ttg-be/templates/galleries, but am unable to insert the embed code from Publisher. There is no documentation for video-Google Drive, so I had assumed that I could use the same protocol as for a Yahoo video. However, the field to enter the address of the video does not allow me to enter any text, so I am forced to create each Stage instance within the Web module and export it.
Is there a way to use Publisher for Google Drive videos and insert the page text and embed code from within Publisher and have a "generic" Stage video template?
