#76 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Installer unable to connect to server » 2019-01-04 00:09:30

Hi Ben,
The problem seems to be solved as I wrote you by PM. I just changed php 7.2 to 5.6 in the ovhconfig file at the root of the subdomain, and I was able to connect to the TTG server and install BL2 and start giving the settings.

Happy new year Matt and Ben !!!!

OVH support finally answered, that RewriteEngine is supported, but I knew it already since I switched to another offer were it is explicitely mentioned.

Agree, but still bound for 18 months,
and then I have to move my present working (CE4) site to another host...

#79 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Installer unable to connect to server » 2019-01-02 18:55:50

Hi Ben,
The OVH support does not help for 'this kind of problem' !!!!
I was convinced the problem was the old 'Perso 2010' OVH offer (not supporting the mod_rewrite function) , so I switched to the current 'Perso' offer, and bad luck it still does not work.
I am really stuck, do you have a suggestion ?
Thanks ,
Bernard

Hi Regine,
Glad not to be alone with that problem.
I have now sent 3 messages to OVH. In the OVH forum, some people are complaining about the support.
For the very old 'PERSO 2010' offer, we now pay about half the price of the current 'PERSO' offer, so I would not be surprised hat our offer does not have all the bells and whisles !!

#81 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Installer unable to connect to server » 2018-12-30 01:39:30

Hi Regine (Française ?) and Ben,
My host is OVH as well !
I have made 2 requests for support to OVH, but no answer yet.
My OVH offer is 'PERSO 2010' , that could be important. What's yours Regine ?
Digging a bit in the OVH documentation, I found that a .htaccess file containing 'RewriteEngine on' , which is the case for Backlight, is available for all OVH shared offers, except '20gp'.
I don't know if it is a problem, but I cannot find what 20gp means in OVH terms.
I also changed the php engine from 5.5 to 5.6, but still same error message.

#83 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Installer unable to connect to server » 2018-12-27 06:24:07

Hi Rod,
I just tried it now, and it did not work.
php is 5.5, although it's declared at the domain level, not at the subdomain level. Not sure if it's important.

Hi,
I am upgrading from CE4 to BL2.
I copied the 4 components (.htaccess, index.php, backlight, galleries) into the subdomain I used for testing after deleting everything.
After giving the order number and email address, I get an error message :
"The installer was unable to connect to the server : https://get.theturninggate.net/install/has_backlight"

Window 10 , Firefox 64.0

I tried with MS Edge with the same result.
Thanks for your help,
Bernard

#86 Re: CE4 Pages » Changes within Pages » 2015-10-30 03:48:01

OK,
I mentioned folders, is it safe as well to upload files which are part of Pages , like contact.php , galleries.php , index.php , info.php , lib.phpmobile.php and services.php ?

When I do some presentation changes in Pages, I don't want to upload all folders related to Pages, otherwise I loose the galleries folder with all albums and photos .
Is it then safe to upload all folders except galleries ?

Thanks Rod, it's clear to me now !

#89 Re: General » Sub domain and forward slash » 2015-10-27 01:48:31

If I start with :
http://www.testce4.bleverd-photo.net/  , it works for all pages

I was starting with
http://www.bleverd-photo.net/testce4/   , it does not work after the home page

Rod,
"You should be using either / or http://your-subdomain.yoursite.com in the Site Root field under Website in Site Info."
Yes

I don't see any reference to about.php under Naviguation hyperlinks .

Hi Rod,
On your site, you mention :
"But, if you set up your test site in a sub-domain rather than a sub-folder, you can simply use the forward slash (/) as the site root".
I have set up a subdomain, and my test site was working ok as long as I was not using that forward / .
Then I tried to use / (in Pages, Gallery and Autoindex) instead of http://yourdomain.... for the test site and now the home page loads ok, but not the other pages, these are refering now to the root of site, not the subdomain.
What is my mistake ?

I would like to put 2 images on the contact page.
For the first one, I use 'page image' , ok
For the second , I think I have to use HTML : what is the HTML syntax , and the folder syntax , assuming galleries/custom-thumbnails ?

#94 Re: CE4 Publisher » Cannot publish album set » 2015-10-23 01:00:06

Ben,
I found something.
The same album set name was already existing in another publishing service.
So it means album set names have to be unique across all services ? Maybe across all collections ??
So it looks like an error coming from LR, not TTG , sorry for my mistake
I am careful but so far it looks ok with another name.
Thanks
Bernard

#95 Re: CE4 Publisher » Cannot publish album set » 2015-10-22 23:53:07

Hi Ben,
I get :
Impossible to rename published collection
Unable to perform action : createAlbumset
Message : unable to find directory : /../../galleries/Afrique       (=albumsetname)

#96 Re: CE4 Publisher » Cannot publish album set » 2015-10-22 18:10:22

Hi Ben,
I have done a few cosmetic changes, deleted everything on the server (pages components, gallery and autoindex templates), uploaded again, deleted also galleries and gallery sets in LR , and I hit the same problem again : when I create an album set, the corresponding folder is not created in /../../galleries.
I am sending you the debug trace.
Bernard

#97 Re: CE4 Publisher » Cannot publish album set » 2015-10-22 00:08:40

OK Ben, I have deleted all the components on the server, and the albums and album sets in LR.
I have uploaded pages, gallery and autoindex , created one album set and 2 albums, and it works now !
Thanks,
Bernard

I have the web publisher bundle.
I have created a auto index template and upload it into  the  ttg/templates/autoindex  folder.
I am able to create and publish a stand alone album , with my gallery template, no problem.
But I am not able to publish a album set or a album belonging to a album set.

When I create the album set in LR, the auto index template appears in the list of possible templates, the creatiion looks ok, the publishing as well (no message).
But when I try to edit the album set in LR, or try to publish an album belonging to the set, I get an error message saying that the folder/../../galleries/album-set-name is not found.
Indeed with FTP, I see that this folder has not been created.

So in summary, stand alone albums are ok, but album sets and their albums are not.
Any suggestion ?
Thanks,
Bernard
