#51 Re: Backlight 2 Support » New Panorama function on Theater » 2019-07-18 22:37:33

Here is a test page I ran so you can see what I’m referring to.  https://terrancealexander.com/?page=ptest

I’ve been working with the new Pano function to see how I might integrate it with my website and I think it works great - thanks.  But I do have two questions that have come up.

1.  I can’t seem to adjust the height so it fits on my iPad screen - it is just a little too tall.  I tried the presentation height setting, knocking it down to 320 px (the lowest it will go) and it does not seem to make any difference in the height.  Thoughts?

2.  I noticed on the caption for the image there is a pinkish background color - is there a way to change that so it matches the rest of my site?  Not sure where it is coming from because it’s not a color I have set anywhere on my site.

Thanks for the great updates - I look forward to using it once I work out the kinks.

#54 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Backlight 2 Wordpress Module... » 2019-06-15 01:37:46

Rod - actually the php plugin did disable my site - I was trying to use the page scroll up function on the WP page similar to all of the other pages and galleries on my site, but it failed. When I disabled it the WP page worked fine.  I’m ok with it disabled on that page so no big deal.  Just thought you’d like to know.

#55 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Backlight not connecting to Lightroom. » 2019-05-18 04:36:08

I just ran into the same issue and it just goes to show how much it pays to read through these community problems, even when they don’t seem to apply at the time.  Thank you both for working out this little issue so I didn’t need to waste a ton of time fixing it!  Much appreciated Rod and Sol.

#56 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Search custom text » 2019-04-30 05:34:46

I set mine up under Admin - Settings - Languages - US English - Manage Language.   Scroll down and you reach the part in the Publisher section for modifying the text script for the Search function.

Quick question - is there a way to adjust the size of the cookie notice and acceptance box?  It seems really large in relation to the amount of text in it.  Maybe I’m just missing an easy setting somewhere?

#60 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Adding border to image in slide show » 2019-02-25 08:06:46

Another option.  I use LR for processing my raw images, usually dng format, and then export a lower resolution, smaller file size jpg of the image to upload to my website.  During the export process I add a border to the image using the plugin LR/Mogrify 2 (http://photographers-toolbox.com/produc … grify2.php).  It is a great little donation to use software that gives a ton of options for border size, style, color, etc.  Since the border is now a part of my jpg that gets uploaded to my BL2 website scaling is not an issue.  I have been using a 1px border on images on my site, but in the past have also played around with wider and double borders - all a matter of taste.

#61 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Vegas Slideshow questions » 2019-02-05 23:54:18

John - I ran into the same issue on my homepage and ended up going to a solid color background from using a background image so I could get rid of the background color of the vegas slideshow in Theater.  I tried the Galleria slideshow because, as Rod indicates, it does offer the ability to get rid of the background color, but I did not care for the look of the slide transitions.  So I went back to Theater.

#63 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Images appear less sharp » 2019-01-21 01:34:12

Cris - I tried the link you provided and see the same error message as Rod.  So I went to your website link and then to the Showcase and it works fine.  On my iPad I don’t see any degradation of quality- every image is tack sharp.  Maybe on a larger monitor the quality is fuzzy?  I love your images!

#64 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Can I start an album as slideshow on "homepage" ? » 2019-01-08 23:54:33

I see the same problem on my IPad - image is pushed to the right and cut off.  Interesting image transition though - like a spinning cube.

#65 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Can I start an album as slideshow on "homepage" ? » 2019-01-08 05:56:06

Anthony - I use this method on my home page.  My home page is set up to insert an album.  The album for this page uses a Galleria style template that can be set to run automatically.  I also did it using a Theater template but like the look of Galleria better.  These are add on modules that you would need to purchase if you have not already done so.

You only need one or the other - not both modules.

#66 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Site crashed with no changes on my side » 2018-12-21 09:28:20

I had a similar problem a couple months ago when my web host changed to an updated php version and I received the exact same message.  I reached out to them and they quickly fixed the issue.  Not sure what they did but problem has not returned.

#68 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Galleria slide show transition between images » 2018-11-19 09:15:47

Is there any way to slow down the transition between slides or change it to fade?

I have a quick question on this topic.  I have my galleries set up to use the Galleria function and started to compare it to the Vegas slide show on the Theater function I use on my home page.  On Vegas there are several options for how the transition works between images including fading, sliding, etc. and on my iPad the fade function using Vegas works great as shown on my home page TAlexanderPhoto.com.

On Galleria, that I have on any of my gallery pages, it appears to only support the 'sliding' option when I view it on the iPad even though it works fine as a fading transition on the laptop.  See any of the galleries on my site.

Is this normal operation for the Galleria show?

If you are working with an iPad also check out this topic.  I had similar issues with the full screen button on Galleria.  http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=9030

#71 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Getting BL2 Menu to Show in WordPress » 2018-11-13 12:31:25

Fascinating discussion on this.  I have a wordpress blog attached to my site called “Artists Journal” created under BL1 which I converted to BL2 and I’ve had no issues with it.  Haven’t done much journaling of late but plan to get back to it soon.  Hope things remain smooth and steady with it.  Good luck.

#74 Re: Backlight 2 Support » PHP Startup error message » 2018-11-08 00:18:17

I checked and they did a system wide php upgrade on Monday.  Would that have changed the APIkey?

#75 Re: Backlight 2 Support » PHP Startup error message » 2018-11-07 23:00:43

yup - first thing I checked.  Its been a couple of days since I went on the site and it just showed up.  I get the same message when I logged into the Backlight site to check for updates.
