#51 Re: CE4 Pages » Moving to a new host » 2018-06-27 17:44:34

I am now getting this on all machines, so as the NDS propagates, the site on the new host doesn't work, any ideas?

I have fixed the image link in the post above, can you see it?

I'm Getting the result depending on the machine I use, not browser dependant.

Weird, that is what you should get Rod, and that is what I am now getting on my laptop too, but on my work PC I now get everything on the front page like this...

pbproblem.jpg

Could it be a dns propagation issue? I have cleared the browser cache

#54 Re: CE4 Pages » Moving to a new host » 2018-06-26 23:27:36

Actually, have cleared the cache on my laptop and that shows the galleries all in the root gallery rather than organised too.

the reason your gallery images aren’t showing may be due to the Site URL setting in Site Info. It should match the actual url of the site:

http://peterblandford.sites.k-hosting.co.uk/

For example, from the new url, if I click on the Home link I’m taken to the old site location.

Once the new location is using the old url, it may work as expected.

Thanks Rod,

Something weird is going on. I have moved the DNS pointers to the new site so the site root URL is now the actual URL on the site. It looks ok on my laptop but when I look at it on a different machine the galleries are no longer organised and everything is in the main galleries page.

What do you see on http://www.peterblandford.com/galleries.php ?

Any ideas?

#56 Re: CE4 Pages » Moving to a new host » 2018-06-26 19:27:28

It looks like there was an issue after all.

I have migrated all the files to Krystal but when I look at the galleries they are all in the root directory rather than being in the subdirectories I had them in before.

I have set up a temporary URL at Krystal and left the domain pointing to the old site

old site galleries http://www.peterblandford.com/galleries.php
new site galleries http://peterblandford.sites.k-hosting.c … leries.php

Any ideas?

#58 Re: CE4 Pages » Moving to a new host » 2018-06-25 23:33:39

Thanks Rod, the files have all been moved over. I got some weird results when I moved the pointers yesterday so I reverted to the old hosts. I just tried it again and everything looks fine!

I had phplugins enabled but haven't used them in this site so I think I'll leave it as is.

It may be time to move to to backlight. If I already have a galleries uploaded in this format http://www.peterblandford.com/galleries.php  is there a way to upgrade to backlight without having to upload all the galleries again?

Hi guys,

I currently have www.peterblandford.com hosted at powweb, it is a CE4 pages site which uses galleries and publisher. I would like to move the domain to Krystal. I have copied over all the site to the new hosts via FTP and naively hoped that changing the DNS to the new host would work, it didn't, the site came up but with errors and galleries all over the place.

I assume there are some settings that need to be change? I would rather not upload the whole site again as I have some hi res files on there and my upload speed is very slow.

Thank you for your help.

I've found a Hide Title plugin, which seems to work.

All good, thanks Rod

I am just adding the code in the customizer, the original code works

but the new code doesn't

Thanks Rod, that didn't work, but it's not too much work to manually add titles to the blog posts

#64 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Remove page title on WP » 2017-01-24 05:51:23

Only one thing, is there a way displaying the title on Blog posts but not on pages?

Is there any way to not display the page title on each page other than deleting the page title? I want to be able to identify each page without actually displaying the page title on each page on the site.

Thank you!

Hi Guys

I created a website using CE4 pages and galleries (www.peterblandford.com) and have just realised that my e-mails are not coming through from the contact page.

I tried to log in to http://peterblandford.com/ttg-be/admin/ using my usual username and password and can't get in with that or the default password. Is there a way to reset the password?

#69 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Centre (or center) the menu in wordpress » 2016-09-28 18:14:21

It seems like I need to add some script to edit css, I have google it but the code required depends on the theme so this, for example, doesn't work

.main-navigation ul {
text-align: center !important;
}

.main-navigation ul li {
display: inline-block !important;
float: none !important;
}

Any idea what code I would need for TTG CE4 theme?

#72 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Centre (or center) the menu in wordpress » 2016-09-23 17:37:41

Yes, I set the them up from another site www.villabegur.com as I wanted a similar look. I applied that theme and got the menus that were created in Lightroom

Like this

original menus

However they are not the menus I would like for this site so I used Wordpress to create some new menus and ticked this box

WP

And the menus now look like this

new menus

Which is great apart from the fact that I would like them centered

#73 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Centre (or center) the menu in wordpress » 2016-09-22 21:37:53

Hi Rod,

Thinking about it, the theme I use does have the menu aligned to the centre. But if I add menus from wordpress, it overwrites the menu  created in Lightroom and aligns it to the left.
It's much easier to change menus in wordpress than going back to Lightroom each time they need changing, is there an option somewhere or would I have to edit the theme?

Hey guys,

Is there a way of centering the menu in the wordpress theme? I can get the menu centered if I create it within Lightroom and create a new theme but it would be much easier to do it within Wordpress if it is possible.

Thanks

#75 Re: CE4 Pages » Using video in CE4 Pages » 2016-09-07 19:54:16

Hey guys, I am back again....

I have my old site sitting untouched in a subdirectory in my root htdocs and I am trying to install the Wordpress version to another subdirectory. I can then change the pointer to either directory so the URL www.villabegur.com points to either the new version or the old version.

I have tried to set a subdomain to point to the wordpress site while testing but the first thing wordpress does is load whatever site is defined in the URL.

Here is my problem

I like everything about the current site apart from I would like Index.html to be defined by wordpress so that I can have a background video on it.

Can I copy all the other pages from my old version (created by TTG Pages CE4) into my wordpress sit?

Any other ideas?
