Hi Matthew, there was but not anymore, cache problems.
Okay so maybe I can set up a new email address just for this form, is that a better solution ?
In our blog site we have a form to email comments plugin, and it works very well. I don’t believe we are forcing the email to look like it’s coming from somewhere else. It simply comes from the person sending the email.
For me personally having emails from clients that are in our inbox from our own email is just odd. I understand you guys may have good reasons to keep it the way you have it but I won’t be using it for the reasons above. I’ll continue to use the Wordpress form to email plugin. I’m nowhere near as clever as you guys but why would email from a client force a spam filter ?
Thanks for the comments though
P
That's a shame. I'll carry on using the wordpress contact form from the blog page then and link it into the Backlight page as that seems to give me what I want.
Need to get that one sorted for the next version on Backlight then fingers crossed
ah ha. I was digging around inside Backlight Couldn't see anywhere saying it was on the host server. Probably for web tech minded folk it's obvious.
Many thanks again Rod I'll give it a go !
I'll get there.... eventually
Seen that already but where is /backlight/custom/css
Promise when I've finished this I'll disappear for a few years again
When receiving an email from the contact form our mail client says it's come from our own email address, I like it to come into our email client inbox from the person that sent the message with the subject being something like "website contact"
A similar issue with the client response form ?
Is there a setting I need to adjust ?
Thanks
Hello, I know me again ! sorry
How do I remove client response gallery from the portfolio page ? I tried no index in Lightroom album set but it keeps reverting to default album set.
http://test.monikabaster.com/potfolio/
Found the fix for this one, when to LR Album set the features and clicked "Hide from Album Set", but still stuck with the error message below
Also I have now developed an error on the client gallery page http://test.monikabaster.com/Client_Gallery/
Arrrr whats going wrong ??
Sorry fixed this also now, this time it was an issue with the web browser Cache. Cleared that and its working. Boom
Hi Rod, I just turned the colour background off altogether. For my own sanity I'll leave it without a border. clearing the template cache after every change then navigating back to the template to edit again, is killing me !
Customs CSS ? where and how ?
Thanks
Hello
I want to remove the share icons etc from the galleries, I realise backlight doesn't have an option to remove this for some odd reason and so came across Rods Top tips page below.
http://ttg-tips-and-tricks.barbeephoto. … ht-albums/
The problem for me is where is the CSS document ? the backlight documentation for CSS doesn't show how to find this elusive file ?
I've gone to the page setup and found advanced setup. Turned on Custom Stylesheet.
Include file ? Backlight.css or Campagna.css or Custom-sample.css or theturninggate.css ?
Now what ?
Documentation covering all this is a bit thin on the ground or I can't find it. Probably obvious for a web savvy person though.
Thanks in advance
Hi Rod, thank you I have that sorted but try as I might I can't get rid of the black band at the top of this slider. I can change it's colour and size just can't get rid of it. All I really wanted was a vert small border. http://test.monikabaster.com/Studio/
Maybe I'm doing something wrong ( quite likely ) but having to clear the template cache after every adjustment to a template to see the change is a right PITA. Having an auto refresh button when playing with settings would save me loads of stress !
Hi Rod, Yes wanted thumb nails along the bottom, The slide show doesn't slide on desk top have to use arrows which I don't want ?
I can't get captions to work like I had in CE3
Fixed this one. I had created an album in LR. Should have been an album set.
However how do I remove the 4 options in the response form ?
How do I get a carousel slide show that plays on its own with a file name description in Backlight2 like I could in CE3. Like this http://monikabaster.com/services/
Can't seem to find this in BL2 Galleria or theater
Sent 3 images from LR to CRG in Backlight2 but it has not put them in a galleries folder. Set up another folder of images in LR and again sent to CRG but this gallery doesn't show at all. What am I doing wrong ??
Not sure what happed but evidently I tried too many times and kicked me out and some how the next time I tried after it reset, it worked. Probably just a glitch ( in my head ! )
working since so all good
all good the new Backlight publisher has a different name so both are installed and running in lightroom. Thanks
Okay thanks Rod, I'll hold out for a bit, and see if the others can let me know. In the meantime I'll upload one or two from BL
thanks
Ah well that's the thing. As I'm still finding my way around Backlight 2 I'm nervous that if I install the BL2 Publisher Plugin and it replaces the old CE3 publisher, and then my other half can't publish to her current site anymore I might become homeless !
Is the LR publisher that comes with Backlight 2 any different from the plugin I've been using with CE3 ?
hello
Started with Backlight 2 yesterday evening, and followed the youtube install directions. All good. Today I need to log in. Problem is it's asking for a user name and password. The default I know was admin and ttg8888. Now I remember under the users heading section there was an admin password area to fill in, so good so far. I've doubled and triple checked the youtube video but there isn't a part for a username.
So although I know the password, whats the username ? I didn't create one, and no, the username "admin" doesn't work
Thanks
Thanks all for the advice. I’ll probably purchase backlight 2 etc this evening and get going.
Hi Daniel, thank you for your reply, I've looked at Rod's migration topic and to be honest it's too complicated for me. So I think I'll just upload all the galleries again fresh from lightroom publishing to Backlight 2. We have a decent 50Mbps upload speed so not bothered about that. Is either the subdirectory or subdomain better for creating a test site ? Is it simple to just change it after to the main domain and delete out all the old files from the root ?
I'm sure this is all very basic stuff for you guys so sorry if these questions sound dumb
Hello, We have been using CE3 obviously for a long time, and we just have to move on, as trying to remember the process how to make changes each time is too stressful for me. So, starting new with Backlight 2. Is there a way we can keep the old site up and running while at the same time getting the new site ready. Rather not host locally as too complicated for me. can I set up the new site for instance www.domain.com/testing and then when ready delete the old stuff from the C panel then just remove the /test. Sounds simple but suspect its not that straight forward ???? Any help or previous experience doing this most welcome.
Thanks
KR's Paul
Thanks Rod, I just need to get my hands on backlight and all the add ons.
