Yeah on Safari you can press CMD-ALT R and see it on a variety of devices and screen sizes. It's not 100% perfect on all of them but it will get me by for now smile

Hi,

Does anyone know where we set the image for the 'Cover Image' when we want to use Custom?

Thanks,
Terry

Hi,

On the CE4 wordpress plugin I had the main page with a sidebar for all my widgets and on a single post page I had them at full width.

The reason for this is that I don't mind selling to customers bits and bobs on a generic page but when they want to read an article I just want them to not get interference from anything else.

This was set in Theme Options on the Wordpress Appearance section but is not longer there on Backlight. Where has this option been moved to?

Thanks,
Terry

Hi,

I have used the MOU markup editor for years but it now longer works on Mac Sierra, what does everyone else use?

Thanks Matt that would be great.

I see there is no way to set the meta description for a page and I appreciate it does not have much impact on SEO but when google displays it's listings, it displays the meta description so I would still like to customise this rather than let google just pick it from the content of the page.

Any one else on an SEO drive that has worked out how to do this?

Thanks,
Terry

Wow, thanks Rod. Better getting trying this.  Thank you for your extra help; appreciate it big_smile I'll let you know.

Thanks Rod.

An expensive test then, buying all the upgrade plugins. sad Wasn't expecting not to have the same options as CE4.

A whole image isn't good enough as I'll loose the clickable part.

I don't know enough to write a phplugin (although I've just looked at some Matt wrote for social media) hmmm time to ponder.

Thanks for your fast response though; appreciate it smile

Hi,

This is my original site in CE4 http://www.terryliveseyphotography.co.uk

This is the start of backlight http://www.terryliveseyphotography.co.u … ight-test/

I can't seem to get the tagline to display as well as the image (which I know is not the correct image but I'm testing). Also I don't see to be able to put a sub tagline either?

I have the description and phone number in the header as a marketing thing; it works and making it text means that people can click it on their mobile and call me direct big_smile

How do I reproduce this in backlight - what have I missed.

Thanks,
Terry

#62 Re: CE4 Gallery » Images have stopped showing in Gallery » 2016-03-07 04:39:00

Okay, so I figured this out in the end.

I had moved the directories and it didn't like this. So I deleted the directories and edited the album and changed the slug. I published again and it came up with an error that it couldn't find the album. I then re-changed the slug and published again and all worked.

Hope that helps someone else.

Hi,

First thing: I'm well aware that I have broken this, I just don't know how I did it, so I can undo it smile

I moved the galleries to a new folder so I could have an auto index. The auto index works perfectly http://www.terryliveseyphotography.co.u … landscape/

But when you click into one of the galleries, it loads the page fine but does not show any images. These galleries are done through publishing in lightroom and I have republished just incase.

If anyone has any clues, it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

#64 Re: CE4 Cart » Cart slow to initially respond » 2015-12-03 03:43:50

Thank you for the fast response Rod; it's good to know it's working fine from your end, just need to fix mine now, which means it's probably a cache issue. So thank you soooo much.

Also, thank you for the admin bit; never thought to check through that. smile

Thanks again,
Terry

Hi,

first off; this is obviously something I have done when upgrading the recent carts and galleries as it was late and I was trying to do everything all at once.

The cart seems really slow (like really) to respond when you either click 'add a package' or the shopping cart icon on the thumbnail.

http://www.terryliveseyphotography.co.u … 20151121c/

What have I done to muck this up or is this a hosting issue?

One thing I have noticed:

I use publisher to display the galleries and I select my cart template in there ie.TLP-Cart-Portrait which is fine but when I go to checkout if I don't have the original template TLP-Cart in the templates directory it falls over (even though I exported the gallery template as TLP-Cart-Portrait) it falls over with a server scripting error saying it can't find the original gallery

Not sure if that is connected or not.

Thanks in advance,
Terry

#66 Re: CE4 Cart » Feature Request: Discount and coupons link to pricing schemes » 2015-10-01 22:51:42

Thanks for that Rod - there is always a solution to every problem (even if it means changing the expectations tongue)

#67 Re: CE4 Cart » Feature Request: Discount and coupons link to pricing schemes » 2015-10-01 17:43:00

Ha ha, sorry Ben there was a lot more to that message but the laughing face after the Grrrr obviously broke the forum.

I had also asked if it was possible to install more than one cart as the contents don't need to be transferred as if someone buys a landscape they aren't going to buy a portrait or wedding picture.

Hi,

would this be a possible feature in future version:

to be able to link discount codes / vouchers etc to pricing scheme?  This would mean that I could give a coupon for a portrait and they couldn't use it on a landscape etc.

Thanks,
Terry

#70 Re: CE4 Pages » Meta Description » 2015-05-13 04:39:55

Ah, a bug maybe then.  Suppose I will just have to add it manually as that is the main page so really needs the correct meta description.

I'll get onto that now then smile

Thanks Rod for looking into that,
Terry

#71 Re: CE4 Pages » Meta Description » 2015-05-13 03:26:40

Hi Rod,

ha yeah sorry forgot the link.

www.TerryLiveseyPhotography.co.uk

Yes, I'm using publisher.

The fields are filled out in the CE Pages template as this is not pushed through publisher but exported and uploaded manually.  All the pages within the CE pages get their meta-description from the first lines of text on that page.  But the initial intro (which is the route of the site) has about using cursor keys etc as the meta description rather than what I filled in on the LR plugin page.

Cheers,
Terry

Hi all,

My meta description seems to have disappeared from my listing in google and looking at the source code of the page it's not there, so obvious why google has dropped it.

It's in my LR CE4 Pages 'Meta Description' section but is obviously getting over-wrote somewhere else in my setup; any clues where to start looking?

Thanks,
Terry

#73 Re: CE4 Cart » Open Question - How do people deal with selling different aspect ratio » 2015-02-27 23:06:18

Hmmm I could offer a second option of either having the image cropped or shrinked to maintain the aspect ratio. Thank for that thought smile

Maybe thats something for the future development ... an aspect ratio option - which only shows sizes which will fit the image aspect or close match big_smile  Matthew?

#74 Re: CE4 Gallery » Masonry, Elastic » 2015-02-26 22:54:42

Dropping down from 75 to 60% made a big difference big_smile

Thanks for your help big_smile

Thanks for the fast reply Rod. I'll have a play with quality setting later on and try that.

Thanks,
Terry
