Should I delete the files then upload the new files or can I just over write each of them.
Here's my site: http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/
I followed the directions in **v1.2.3** readme directions. I completed all three steps. In step 2 when I went to the designer and Publisher sections it indicated it was updating the data bases. However, when I completed step three and went to my site I got this message, "Unable to load template: ./backlight/framework/../admin/application/views/templates/template_home.php". Your thoughts.
I just noticed that you included 2 files in the download but gave no directions on how to deal with them. They are the HTACCESS and index.php files. Does the fix have anything to do with them?
I downloaded the new Voyager and it worked very well...again. I used it last year too. Thanks for the reference and know that at least one of your customers cannot say enough good things about the product.
I wrote to you about this last year but last year's solution doesn't work now. I make a new catalog every year and label it as such. I keep the catalogs (and their backups) on external hard drives. I just made the new 2017 catalog and the Backlight settings did not transfer. Last year you said that Publish Services are catalog specific and you recommended Voyager Plugin to move the settings from one catalog to another. It worked very well. I checked the website that you gave me last year for Voyager and none exists. Is there a replacement for Voyage? or some other method to move the Backlight settings to a new catalog or does it have to be done manually?

I'm in Backlight as admin. I've developed a work around that works. the work around is: I make a change in designer, save it, click on my website, hit control F5 and the changes appear. I don't see a refresh button on the bottom of my page. But I do see a refresh button in the upper left corner. But when I click on it, it doesn't refresh. I can only get it to change when I hit control F5. I works but it time consuming and clumsy.
I'm on a pc. I'm designing a template in Backlight. I'm using the standard template and it's set to default. My workflow is... I make a change, click save, then refresh on my site and nothing happens. I reviewed matt's You Tube video and he mentioned the auto-refresh button. I don't have the auto refresh button. I'm in Backlight as the administrator. My goal is to quickly see what changes I've made. Ideas?
I just updated to 1.1.1 and my albums that were under Published Services are no longer there. I was able to publish a new album after the update and that shows up on my site. The albums that appeared under Pub. Serv. before the update remain on my website.
When I updated I followed the directions in the readmetxt. file. That is, I removed and uploaded the files and directories one by one. I found each folder listed under "To update to Backlight=Pages 1.1.1" on my site using FileZilla. for example, I found backlight/admin in FileZilla and deleted it. Then immediately uploaded the same folder that I downloaded and unziped and had sitting on my desktop. I did that 9 times with each folder as directed.
I had TTG-Publisher.lrplugin sitting on my desktop. In LR>Pub Serv I went to Publishing Manager. From the left side I removed TTG Publisher then Added the new one that was on my desktop which was unzipped from the recent download. BTW I was not able to save it when I clicked the button to save it. That has never been able to be saved. you and I discussed this issue in CE4 but everything else worked so we ignored it.
I went to martinjenichphotography.com/Backlight and went to the Designer and publisher sections and clicked on a 'continue" button that I think updated the data bases.
Finally, I cleared the Template Cache as instructed.
Any ideas?
Ben,
I tried clicking on your e mail link under your picture and was not able to access your e mail.
I tried the solution that mblanchette1 x recommended. Here's what I did I went to file zilla and found one of my test albums. I found the file that mblanchette1 mentioned (galaxy.xm.). I downloaded it and opened in "Editlite" and tried to change the ID from 2 to 1. I could not find such a number. The only number was 27148.
I also tried going to Blacklight>.Designer>Templates>Assign Templates>Gallery>Standard Album Set Templates>Save...It was the only option and it said it was not changed.
How can I set you the admin login?
My website when I access from my desktop not through LR. http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/
Here is my 1st album when I access it through LR, Publish Services: http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … 1-18-2016/. It should include 2 photos.
Here is my 2nd album when I access it through LR, Publish Services: http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … 1-18-2016/. It should include 5 photos.
Note: Its the same link but I have two different sets of photos.
I can post an album. In fact, I posted two albums. They show up on the first page of my new website. But both albums are on different first pages. Both are different from the first page that I get when I access my site from outside of LR.
I'll start with the questions then give some background. 1. How can I get rid of the small black boxes on each of my images (I assume where the shopping cart should be)? 2. How can I get my opening page on my site to be consistent with the same opening page when I access my site from Publish Services?
I had an account with Fotomoto when using CE4. In your current documentation, "Fotomoto Support in Backlight". I followed all the steps. For example, in fotomoto.com I completed all the steps under "publish settings", "site addresses" and "store information". In the section "In Backlight" in your documentation, I pasted my store number where I was directed to and was able to find my way to the Add-On section and chose Fotomoto and saved the change.
When I access my site through Publish Services i.e.Go to Published Album, I get a page with the place holder text and my 2 test images show. (I made a test gallery and published it with two images.) Then when I go to galleries and open any of them, I get a small black box in the upper left corner on each image. I assume that's where the Fotomoto shopping cart should be.
When I access my website from my desktop I get something different. I get a page that I designed and no images from the test album that I had just uploaded. There is no place holder text which I removed when i designed it. The black boxes are still present on the images in the gallery.
In other words, I get one page when I access my site through Publish Services and a different page when I access my site from my desktop. However, in both instances I get the black box on each image which I assume is supposed to be the shopping cart.
I'm working on Fotomoto for the time being. I had an account with Fotomoto when using CE4. In your current documentation, "Fotomoto Support in Backlight". I followed all the steps. Dah!!! Sorry about that.
I found the "sendmail..." line in "View PHP Info" and it reads exactly as I wrote it in notepad. So far so good. But in the original line in the "PHP ini" file in FileZilla, some of the information that was included in the handout was not there. Specifically, in "PHP ine" file there was no 'f" after the "-i" at the end. The example in the documentation included "-f" so I included it with similar spacing. Could that be why it is not working? and/or
In step #7 the documentation it referred to "you@yourcompanyname.com". I put in "martinjenich@martinjenichphotography.com". That's what I put in the email program in the control panel in Blue host earlier today. Is that correct?
I am now able to get back into the dashboard in Backlight-problem solved. Thanks. Regarding sending the e mail, I downloaded the php file, opened it in notepad, found the line (1012) "send_path...". But above it it said it was for "Unix only". I made the changes and tested it by sending an e mail but it didn't work. Above the Unix reference was "For Win32 only". 1. I'm using windows so should I have made the changes there and not under the Unix reference. BTW the path under Win32 is different from how it described in the documentation. Also, I went to verify it in the dashboard and could not find "View PHP Info". 2. How do I find "view php info" in dashboard?
This one is probably for ben. I'm trying to reconfigure my e mail as per your "Issues with Bluehost" documentation. Everything went well and I got the PHP 5.4 version. I went to FileZilla and found the file "pphp.ini". BTW-It's not in Backlight and appears to be at the same level as Backlight. 1. Should it be in Backlight? 2. How do I remove the semi-colon and make the substitutions as you note in Step 7. I think I need some special software to do that.
When I went to get into backlight I got this message, "Unexpected error: Module 'ionCube Loader' already loaded in Unknown on line 0". How do I fix it?
When I double click on the TTG Publisher I get the Publishing Manager. In there the address appears exactly as you described above. The authentication check was successful. 1. That means all my albums in Publishing Services are managed by Backlight, correct? 2. And I don't have to do anything else to any of the specific albums, correct?
3. In CE4 I had a Fotomoto link to all my images. How do I re-establish the fotomoto connection?
4. Are there specific tutorials to help with the design of my site? i've watched Matt's you tube video where he quickly ran through some of the features. Are there more video's or printed literature somewhere?
I think it's working. I simply followed Bens suggestion and when back to backlight publisher settings and reentered the same APIkey. For good measure I reentered it in LR publishing manager, checked authentication and it was successful. I went to the first albumin Plublished Services and republished it. How to I know that it actually being managed by backlight?
I'm now doing the migration. I completed steps 1 to 5 in the directions to perform migration.I guess that s called migrating in the backend. I'm at the point where I'm trying to change the API URL for each Publisher instance in LR. Not sure what a Publisher Instance is. I tried double clicking on an album. I don't think thats a Publisher Instance. I got an message that it was "unable to perform action getsetupfortemplate"
I tried double clicking on TTG Publisher and got the LR Publishing Manager. The URL was already filled in accurately. it reads: http://martinjenichphotography.com/backlight/publisher/. The API is also accurate. But when I checked the authentication, it said, it was not successful please check the URL and API key. suggestions?
Here's what I did. In LR I went to File>Plug in Manager> Add>clicked on TTG-Publisher.lrplugin. It shows up in the left column and it says it's installed and running. It also says the TTG CE4 is disabled. But when I go to Publisher services in the Library Module, the only TTG option that shows is TTG CE4. When I double click on it I get the path to CE4 on my site with TTG-Be/publisher at the end of the address. Do I change that manually in the Publisher API Details?
I purchased Backlight and Pages. I'm making progress but ran into a problem. I got Backlight (BL) installed on my site. I can get to the Dashboard and when I go to my site I see that BL is there. 1. I can see my old galleries when I click on the Galleries tab, is that correct?
Now I'm trying to install publisher in LR. In LR File>Plug in Manager, I see that Backlight is installed and running and the pathway in the Status section shows backlight. It also shows the TTG CE4 Publisher is disabled. However, when I go to Lightroom (LR) in the Library module and in Publishing Services the TTG CE4 Publisher is the only TTG option available. I double clicked on it I went to LR Publishing Manager and the path seems to be TTG CE4 publisher. Ideas?
In filezilla I'm seeing them on the left side. I dragged the Backlight folder from the left side to the public_html folder on the right side. I found the two files (htaccess and index.php) in the admin folder in the Backlight folder. But the htaccess folder is labeled disabled. BTW- I did not drag the Publisher folder over.
also when I go to my site, nothing has changed. All my photos are the same. I watched the You tube video and tried to replicate what matt did. I got a message that the setup was successful.
They are showing up in Windows but not File Zilla.
I bought Backlight and am trying to install it. I'm using File Zilla and can't find how to "show invisable files" as I can't see the htacces and Index.php files. In FileZilla I tried Server>Force Showing Hidden Files. Didn't Work. Any ideas?
My galleries are publisher managed...I think. To publish in LR my practice has been to go to publish services and CE4 publisher with the TTG Icon shows in one of the bars. I create an album and upload the collection and the images how up on my site. I think that means they are publisher managed. Correct?
