I am not quite certain when this happened, I think around the time I updated to 1.10. But when i enter http://garylittle.com in the browser url, it goes to garylittle.com/private which is not one of the pages currently defined in the menu list.
I am at a loss to figure this out.
I  noticed ALLOT, ALLOT of errors in err_log file Here are the last few errors:

Actually, there seems to thousands of these errors, over 6 megs.
When I choose 'Home' from the nav bar it does resolve to the correct page.
Also the symbols do not display.

I have found that https://gtmetrix.com/ is an excellent site to see what is going on, especially page loads, etc. It is free and I use it often. Here is a look at my site:  https://gtmetrix.com/reports/garylittle.com/k6qOoVWc. It gives you quite allot of information when you go to the tabs.

I would like to put a BL album set or album on a WP page. Is that possible?

Thank you Dan and Mathew, I am in a constant state of learning. You have expanded my knowledge so much. This is a great relief that the BL/WP does not jeopardize standard WP actions and  options. I found it disconcerting to have to depend on a 'featured image' for display.
Here is the blog post now:

I thought that one of the reasons for BL/WP was to be able to have a standard WP blog.. One of the characteristics of a blog in WP is that when you open it to the blog the posts will appear. That is not the case however with BL/WP. Here is my testing:
<1> I installed a completely brand new standard WP on my server. I created a couple of posts to that  blog. Here is the link to that blog:  http://www.garylittle.com/atst/  as you can see these post appear as intended. In other words whether text or images or both, they appear when the blog is called.

<2> Using the new 1.0.2 BL/WP I created some posts on the blog and this is what I get:  http://garylittle.com/blog/
clearly the posts do not show up with either just text or text and images.

I am up to date with BL and WP.

Apparently I have misunderstood what the primary purpose of the BL/WP is, certainly not to react as a standard WP blog with posts. What have I done wrong??

In my http://garylittle.com/blog/ I have three posts, None of them show the images I have posted. But when I press the title the images show up, but only JUST THAT ONE NOT THE OTHERS. I have to go back and start from the beginning for the others. Is this how the blog/ is going to work?

This isn't how I envisioned the WP blog to work. I though a blog had continuous rolling posts.

#34 Re: Backlight Support » BL implementation of WP » 2016-10-14 11:14:17

I just got a response form the Wonderplugin people. Here it is:

For the slider on your website, there are two issues:

The first issue:

Your WordPress theme is not using the jQuery provided by WordPress system. Instead, it uses its own jQuery, which is against the recommend rules of WordPress.

The latest WordPress is using jQuery 1.12.4. Your WordPress theme is using jQuery 3.1.0. jQuery 3.1.0 has lots of difference with jQuery 1.12.4.

We have updated the plugin and made it compatible with jQuery 3.1.0. To fix the problem, please upgrade the slider to the new version 8.5. For how to upgrade, please view https://www.wonderplugin.com/how-to-upgrade-a-commercial-version-plugin-to-the-latest-version/.

The second issue:

For the slider, in the plugin, step 3 Options tab, Slider Options, uncheck the option Responsive -> "Extend to the parent container height".

If you check this option, you need to make sure the container of the slider has a proper height value.

Our other plugins may also have problems with jQuery 3.1.0. We will check and update them accordingly ASAP.

I will check out their suggestions in the morning.

I started out wanting a plugin for 'ken burns' effect. Same thing as above. Worked fine in the standard WP but in BL it does not show up, just the outlines. The plugin is part of a set called https://www.wonderplugin.com/. There are nine in the set, I tried four and all four acted the same way as shown here. When in reg WP they operated exactly as they s should.
Actually, one of the main things about having BL/WP is to extend the functionality by using some plugins. I know you all are working tirelessly on adding capability, but it seems that for the near future it would be nice to have this capability. If interested, they have a free version of the 'ken burns' slider.

Thank you Ben, I know you did the work that solved the problem. Do I  need to say something to Bluehost?
And what would I tell them??
I am certainly willing to go at them if I have the ammunition...

#40 Re: Backlight Support » Wordpress blog support Markdown? » 2016-10-10 23:39:43

Greatly appreciated Mathew. This is what I was hoping for. I will check them out. With traveling like I do, there are times when internet is non-existent or so miserably slow, that it makes it impossible to create posts. These look like the ones that would do that.

Since going with your products some years ago, I have become a believer in Markdown. It appears that bywordapp does allow MD.

#41 Re: Backlight Support » Hosting Recommendations » 2016-10-10 23:35:34

http://Bluehost.com provided me with unbelievable support. When I was having the issues with slow pageload times, they worked for hours with me to help resolve the problem (which didn't turn out to be theirs). But they stuck with me.

#42 Re: Backlight Support » Wordpress blog support Markdown? » 2016-10-10 12:52:28

Yes Rod, but you HAVE TO BE IN THE SITE TO DO IT. I had remembered a Microsoft product that would allow posts to a site WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN THE SITE. I think that is a very good idea, in fact I had used it a great deal in the past. So my question is,,,,do you remember what that product was??

#43 Re: Backlight Support » Wordpress blog support Markdown? » 2016-10-10 07:35:07

Thank you, there used to be a desktop application that you could create posts to WordPress, it had all the graphic, text advantages and it sent the document to the WP site. I have  tried to find it but cannot, it was a very convenient way to create blog posts when you were not able to go to the site.
The plugin TinyMCE Advanced is very good and when in the site it gives you most of the ability one needs to post.

Is this true or have I not done something correctly?

#46 Re: Backlight Support » installed WP in wrong folder? » 2016-10-09 04:28:51

How will I know what the BL files are: The WP files are?

#47 Re: Backlight Support » Whsy am I getting these symbols instead of the corect ones » 2016-10-09 04:27:31

The question is however, there are a lot of files, which ones are WP?

#48 Re: Backlight Support » installed WP in wrong folder? » 2016-10-09 04:25:29

But it is not in my case. That is my question. How do I recover now? Just reinstall WP one level up?

Perhaps I did not install Wordpress correctly. You stated that it should be installed in the same domain as /backlight so I installed in
/backlight. Was that wrong??
And if so how do I recover from that.

see http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=7075

Should I have installed WP in /public_html?
