Hi,
I've just installed theater and when I published my homepage using it, I get a blank box. I then updated to Pages 104, and republished - still blank.
I must be missing a setting, but what?
I noted that the release for pages 104 contains an htaccess file, but the README doesn't say to install it. Could that be the cause?
Website is www.artofthewild.co.uk. It's the front page!
Hi
It would be really useful to know what features re planned for Backlight, and in what order. Right now there are features - like social media and wordpress blog integration, and the front page slideshow - - that are important for my business, but I have no idea if they will ever be added. I don't want to spend time and money getting someone to code solutions for me if TTG are going to do them, but equally I don't want to spend any more time and money on Backlight if I'm never going to be able to reproduce the CE4 site I spent a lot of time creating. Some guidance would be really helpful!
I was hoping that Theater could be used to reproduce the CE4 feature that I loved so much - a front-page slideshow showing off the most recent photos I'd taken - the kind of thing Rod did with the WOW slider, but published directly from Lightroom. But the documents seem to suggest Theater is only capable of full-screen slideshows. Is that the case? If it is, are there plans to introduce less-than-full-screen slideshows in the future?
Rod, I tried emailing the logs to Ben, but tee email address given in the page ponted to by the link you sent is bouncing. Is there an alternative, pelase?
I have a website which has been working happily for a long time. But lately, when I add new posts to one gallery, "Latest additions", it is adding the new images but not deleting the old ones. I'm running publisher 2.3.3 and TTG-BE 205. The website is www.artofthewild.co.uk. Any suggestions?
Folks
Never responded that this fix worked for me. Many thanks
Hi,
I had a fully working TTG-BE 202 installation.
I've started to upgrade to the latest TTG-BE 03 version. When I replace the /admin subdirectory I get (as expected ) a message saying that I need to upgrade the framework subdirectory. When I do, my entire website fails with an http 500 error - not just on ttg-be/admin but the entire site. I can reload a backup of the 202 ttg-be and it works fine.
Website is www.artofthewild.co.uk
Any suggestions?
Sorry - just been all over the cart and can't see this option to reorder the products. Where can I access it, please?
OK, now I'm getting ambitious. Is it possible to selectively disable some of the checkboxes on the cart? I want casual clients to have to select "I accept the terms", but professional clients who have a licence agreement are going to get annoyed if the have to click it every time they download. I'd like to be able to include it in some cart-enabled galleries but not others. Is that possible?
found it - hadn't realised there was a default price in "Method" as well as "price". Thanks, guys.
I've been adding values into my cat which passes diagnostics, but every time I try a trial checkout, I'm getting a minimum shipping of £30 - a value that isn't used or set anywhere.
For example, my values for "uv fine art print on canvas are 0 per item, 0 minimum , no maximum, and three size option of £5, £6 and £8. If I put one in my cart I get shipping of £30.
It's your favourite website - www.artofthewild.co.uk. Go to the print sale menu item and try it out (it's set to demo mode and paypal sandpit, so you won't face a bill!)
All help gratefully received
Awww... flip. I'm really sorry guys - thought I'd checked spelling carefully before I posted. Need new glasses, I guess. Many thanks.
If you go under the top level link "print sales" there are two album sets - the wildlife one has a couple of test pictures. All are cart-enabled, but the icons aren't appearing, either
Hi guys,
Absolute newbie to cart - set up cart in ttg-be, all the diagnostics come back OK. Set up a couple of albums with cart integration - cart symbol appears, but if I press it, nothing happens. The cart profile is set to "default" because at the moment I'm just trying to get things to work before I load all my pricing data. I found a similar thread where you recommended republishing, so I opened a new clean album instead and tried that - no change. Any ideas?
It's the same website again, I'm afraid - www.artofthewild.co.uk
Thanks all - that did it. The square brackets have been with the image for a long time, and the image has been published before - it seems that the publish to pages gallery route is affected by them while simply publication to a gallery isn't.
sorry - web address should be www.artofthewild.co.uk.
I have had the publisher-driven homepage working fine for many weeks. Today I made a minor tweak - trying to add some whitespace between the filmstrip and the galleria slideshow - reloaded the template into the ttg-be galleries template area, republished the front page and when I refreshed it in the browser - the content area is blank. No slideshow, no filmstrip. I reloaded my backup copy of the old gallery template for pages-gallery, republished - and I'm still getting nothing.
Looking at the source code of the front page I see a lot of references to the images, but I'm baffled as to why they aren't showing. The website is www.artoftewild.co.uk. Any suggestions as to how to debug this?
Hi Jon,
Thanks for responding. I've followed the tutorial to the letter, and it works fine on PC. I tried it on Iphone and it worked fine, tried it on IPAD and it failed - this time I got a repeating series of 12x each image. However, clearing the browser history and it works fine - it seems to be an interaction between a bookmarked version of the old CE3 site and the new CE4 code.
Hi
I was advised to use CE4 stages (6.0.2) to build my pages-gallery. The CE4 documentation on allowing publisher to run your home page says " You may assign any gallery template to be used, created by CE4 Gallery, CE4 Stage, etc." All worked well on PC but when I tried to view on IPAD I got an error message saying that "the template file ce4_homepage_template/template_mobile.php could not be found" - where ce4_template_homepage is the name I gave to template I'd created using stage. WhenI checked, stage doesn't produce a mobile template, and when I tried copying one over from a gallery template built sin ce4_gallery, the resulting page was better on IPAD lost the error message but still didn't serve properly - all I got was the masthead and a bunch of broken icons. Am I doing something stupid? Or is that the pages-gallery can only be built using a gallery template?
Ah. I spoke too soon. I've just about got the homepage working on PC, but when I try to access via IPAD, I get an error message that it is unable to find ce4_homepage_template/template_mobile.php. And that's not too surprising, since CE4 stages doesn't seem to produce one. (not the cart template, either). I'm using stages 6.0.2. I tried copying a template_mobile.php from one of the other directories - removed the error message, served me a masthead and then a black screen with missing image icons. Am I missing something or doing something stupid?
Apologies to Ben -I missed that he gave the breadcrumbs answer.
Updated stage to 6.0.2 (When did that come out? I didn't see an email about it) -and I now have a working gallery feeding directly out of publisher! Thanks to all for their support
Hi Rod,
thanks - that worked. So now I've:
Built a new template in stages, set the grid type to galleria slideshow, called it ce4_homepage_template. It previews fine inside Lightroom. Exported it to the ttg_be/templates/gallery folder. Changed phplugin-sample to phplugins. Created a published album called "pages-gallery", set the template to ce4_homepage_template, unticked breadcrumbs, ticked hide from search and hide from autoindex, added some page context text, published it, dropped an image onto it and re-published it.
... and nothing. The page content text I entered into the pages-gallery page copy section appears immediately below the masthead, but no filmstrip, no images. You can see it at www.artofthewild.co.uk. This feels like a settings issue, but why would it work fine in stages preview?
The gallery type in pages is set to galleria slideshow. So I was expecting to a galleria slideshow dominating the page, not small thumbnails that I have to click on to expand. I was hoping to see something like the galleria page illustrated in the documentation:
• Home • using_ce4_publisher_to_manage_your_ce4_pages_home_page • ce4_pages_gallery
I'm obviously missing something in the settings - but what?
Changed both templates - to ce4_gallery_template and ce4_autoindex_template respectively. installed into ttg-be galleries and autoindex directories. changed the phplugins-sample to phplugins. Deleted all old album sets and albums. Created a new album titled pages-gallery, set to do not autoindex, do not search, with a single picture of a hare in it ... and

Deleted the entire publisher service. Reinstaleld pubisher service. created new album pages-gallery, published a picture of a hare with it- and now I have a front page (see www.artofthewild.co.uk) with TWO thumbnails of a hare and no main image!
That fixed it. Now for the basedir issue....
