#26 Re: Backlight Support » trouble resetting backlight galleries » 2017-02-28 01:30:38

At this point, this is what I would try:
Make sure all albums are deleted from Lightroom and the server.
Empty the /galleries/ folder on the server.
Delete the publisher/ folder inside of /backlight/data/
Try publishing an album.
_______________

Nope still getting errors...

If you want to start from scratch, the way to uninstall Backlight is to simply delete the backlight folder on the server. But if you choose to do this, be sure you export your page, album set, and album templates first so you won't have to start from scratch with your design. You can do this by going to the Templates page in Backlight, click on the name of a template, and then click on Export Template. You'll save the template to your computer and you can import it into the new installation.

I went ahead and re-installed from scratch. At least the menus are working now. didn't think about the export/import function but i didnt lose that much work.

thanks for your help. hopefully I can get things going this time.

I erred...

Are the album folders still appearing in the galleries/ folder on the server even after deleting in Publisher?

No

#28 Re: Backlight Support » trouble resetting backlight galleries » 2017-02-28 00:40:07

Are the albums still showing up in Publish Services (in Lightroom)

No

Are the album folders still appearing in the galleries/ folder on the server even after deleting in Publisher?

Yes

If any are, and they need to be deleted, try deleting from Backlight> Publisher > Top-level Galleries.
(Matt's second paragraph above)

when I try that I get the following...

session_start(): open(../../backlight/framework/../data/sessions/sess_igg0bdp3idkajain2olgqq67s7, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)|#0 [internal function]: ErrorHandler::handleError(2, 'session_start()...', '/var/www/backli...', 74, Array) #1 /var/www/backlight/framework/helpers/AuthHelper.php(74): session_start() #2 /var/www/backlight/framework/init.php(124): AuthHelper::handleSession() #3 /var/www/backlight/publisher/index.php(36): require_once('/var/www/backli...') #4 {main}|URL: /backlight/publisher/index.phpUnknown: open(../../backlight/framework/../data/sessions/sess_igg0bdp3idkajain2olgqq67s7, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)|Unknown|0

Matt, thanks for your quick reply. I have tried to empty the publisher service in lightroom and I get that 'the collection could not be deleted from the service'

I am willing to start over and re-install backlight if necessary. how would i go about deleting backlight and re-installing if necessary..

thanks in advance.

I had originally added several albums to my galleries page successfully. I needed to delete a couple of the album sets and tried a combination of deletions on the server and deletions from publisher and the backlight pages. I have cleaned up the structure and can access the new gallery by name successfully. ( pkemp.com/galleries/home )

However when I try to access the galleries page from the root web site I get a directory listing instead of the list of galleries/thumbnails.

my web site is

pkemp.com

any idea on how to get the galleries index page to work correctly?

Thanks in advance.

I just re-enabled the contact page on pkemp.com. I'll see what happens...

I was definitely getting spam from the ce4 pages contact form. i assumed (I guessed incorrectly) that the same structure was used in backlight. yes I am acting preemptively, to the point that I have disabled the contact form for backlight. I will re-enable and see what happens if you think I shouldn't have issues with the backlight contact form.

Let me know if the same anti-spamming was in ce4 please, as that did get spam...

thanks

#36 Re: CE4 Publisher » cannot get new ce4 templates to show up in publisher » 2015-04-23 03:14:55

I think I finally found the problem. I did not properly specify the api path and api key. once I went back in and did that things are looking like they are working....

Previously I had cut and pasted from the ce3 install plugin manager and I think that is why I was getting the ce3 templates. In any case my domain name is pkemp.com

thanks, Rod, for the quick response.

I  have created a new gallery template and saved it to /var/www/ttg-be/templates/gallery/test-ce4

When I go to publish a gallery, I do not see the new template name, test-ce4 in the pull down list for the templates.

what I do see is the list of templates for the old ce-3 list from the publisher/templates directory.

What have I got configured incorrectly? for some reason the new ce4 publisher is not looking for the templates in the ttg-be subdirectory...

any help would be most appreciated...

thanks in advance.

#38 Re: CE4 Publisher » Finding Dashboard » 2015-03-13 16:05:44

I just rebooted and now I can get to the dashboard.  must have been an issue with the database... sorry for the false alarm...

#39 Re: CE4 Publisher » Finding Dashboard » 2015-03-13 02:14:26

I tried the password retrieve functions and they returned the admin password. When I try the referenced password, I still get an invalid log in attempt. Is there anything I am missing here?

Thanks

I have had at least two instances of whole sections disappearing or blanking out on me when I am trying to configure pages in LR4. the first time was the complete disappearance of the ftp dialog where one specifies the target folder. It simply disappeared. Upon exiting LR and starting work again it has reappeared.

the second instance was the blanking out of the output settings items. has anyone else seen this behavior? Now I know what is supposed to be there, and if it disappears, I will know to exit LR and restart to try and get the menu settings/options back...
