Matt, the custom thumbnails for the album sets are formated to 512 px x 512 px and well sharped in Lightroom. The are all ok.
—-
In the album template, the rendition of the thumbnails is set to the max. value of 512 px. The slider for Retina Thumbnails is set to - off -. Photo width and height is set to 1200 px x 1200 px. All images are processed from RAW to 1200 px x 1200 px with Lightroom and resynced into Lightroom to upload to backlight.
After upload, the thumbs are looking in Safari not as sharp as they should.
In Firefox they all look ok.
Please have a look: https://www.rainer-goergen.de/galleries … -chobe_np/
Rainer
Edit:
Urgent: This concerns at time only for my new album set of my Namibia gallery.
All other galleries are older ones, here I have processed the thumbnails of the images in Lightroom and uploaded them via ftp. Therefor they all are looking sharp.
But after finishing my new actual album set, I want to reupload the older albums with new rendition for my new iconic layout.
Error found, thanks Pideja.
Checked the css file with this tool:
https://codebeautify.org/cssvalidate
The error was in the css file I have uploaded from my Mac.
I didn't closed the underline ==== with */.
I am ashamed.
Rainer
Error found - see my other posting. - */ - was in the wrong line of my custom css. Little error, but max. effect.
Rainer
Hi, while changing my whole website to iconic view, there is an other annoyance.
The custom thumbnails I have formatted with Lightroom in 512 x 512 pixel size. They are sharp as they should be.
But - after uploading the images in an album, the thumbs of all images are unsharp (in Safari Browser).
If I view my website in Firefox, these thmbnails are real sharp.
Does someone knows, why it is so?
In Backlight 1 it was the same. I have created all thumbnails with Lightroom to the correct size and uploaded them - all were sharp.
Rainer
Maybe I have done somewhere a mistake, but I don't know.
Since yesterday I have seen, that in fancybox the social media share button to twitter is visible again.
So I have set a media query at the end of my pangolin_iconic.css, that it will not displayed under 992px.
In the middle of the file I have had it deactivated since month and it worked.
------
Now, on my Mac, the share button is also displayed again in desktop size resolution. On my iPad no --- ?
I am confused again.
Rainer
I tried all this for hours. The !important code is not needed. On PC, Mac and iPhone this all works well.
But the changes are not visible on iPad Pro, they have no effect. Also changes in the album template
under - presentation -.
When I change the colors, there is no effect on iPad. On iPhone there is no problem.
In my pangolin_iconic.css I have a @media code at the end. This works well on iPhone.
If I delete the @media code, there is no effect on the iPad. On Mac, I will check it later in the day.
Rainer
Thank you - now - without your code, on PC and Mac the arrows are always visible. Maybe there was an internet cache too.
iPad - I don't know. I try your code too.
Thanks, Rainer
I am trying this since 3 hours. With my iPhone the arrows are always visible. On iPad with desktop site - no chance.
I tried everything.
Rainer
P.S.: On your website they disappear too.
Edit:
Now I have taken my Macbook Pro with Sierra.
Firefox and Safari worked.
But why not my MacPro with High Sierra and my iPad Pro 2018 with iPad OS 13.12 not?
Rainer
Yes, I am now at my Mac. This seems to be a problem in Safari browser.
In Firefox, the arrows are were visible for some minutes. After a few tests with css and undo the changes, same like in Safari. In Safari they disappear always with the other buttons top right.
???
Rainer
Edit:
Is there also a solution that, if I click beside the image, that the image stays on the screen and will not close?
Now I have it included again at the end.
But if it isn't include the custom css, this code is integrated in backlight, if you use inspector and mark an navigation arrow.
Please have now a look again.
Rainer
See all galleries on my website.
Rainer
The code you have written is in basic css file. I checked this in aspect.app.
In all galleries the arrows disappear in fancybox.
On mobile devices all arrows are always visible, until you click onto the image.
I have tested your css code additionally in my custom css file.
I have checked also fancybox.php.
Rainer
Does not work. After a few seconds the arrows disappear.
Rainer
It seems there have been some changes. The album title is always the slug. And the text in the slug section is always the path, where the album is stored on the server in the galleries folder.
Rainer
Hi, I am creating new albums.
The title of the first album is - Teil 1 - (part 1).
In Lightroom Publisher I have written in the slug section - 01-windhoek-etosha -.
When I open the website, the slug is the album name.
Bug?
Rainer
Edit: See also the newzealand albums on my website. Same issue.
Edit: I have now deleted in Lightroom Publisher the album title, now the slug name is correct.
Edit: Every time I write text in the album title section, this text will be the text of the slug.
Rainer
Hi, in desktop view, the fancybox navigation arrows are disappearing after a few seconds. What is the right css code to make them always visible like in mobile view?
Rainer
Or Boinx FotoMagico Pro.
R.
I will test it.
Thanks
Hi, I changed my website to iconic-style. So I had to recreate and to upload the new sharp thumbnails for the album-sets and the albums.
Now I have seen, that a lot of the thumbnails inside my albums are not as sharp as possible (Safari, in Firefox they are much more sharper).
Because I want also change the size of them - what is the right way? Do I have to upload all images, after I have set the thumbnail size in my album template? Or have I export the new thumbs in the new size from Lightroom and upload them manually with FileZilla in the thumbnail folder? This is, what I have taken in the past with Backlight 1.
Rainer
Thanks Matt, I use only custom thumbnails - since backlight 1.
Rainer
Yes indeed. It seems you never sleep.
2 weeks work during holiday to change the site to iconic style. I've learnt once more a lot of programming with your help and try and error. At home, I have to upload my custom thumbnails, that's all.
After this maybe some optical corrections. For what? Only for me. Nobody is interested in my website.
Rainer
I tried the script of Rod - no function, no button.
Rainer
Top 5px - logical worked, thanks.
The other values fade in and out I know.
Now it is late and I will try the other tomorrow.
Rainer
I don't need it, but I want to know what I have to change, that the arrow up icon is displayed constantly.
It disappears every time when I scroll up. (Edit: fixed, I think cache problem on iPad Safari).
I tried to change my phplugin.php but I didn't find any solution.
